Either way the consoles are so close in power that the end products are never that different. People love to point to the differences in paper specs (only to fuel fanboy wars really)..."this CPU is more powerful" "this GPU is more powerful" ...at the end of the day, the products on the screen are almost always identical and all that talk of XX% more powerful disappears like a fart in the wind. There hasn't been a single game this gen that you could tell the differe...
Of course it's ok to have a favorite...we all do. Personally I think there are things to like about all the consoles and if you have a chance you SHOULD get them all...not doing so is your loss and your loss only (kinda like that quote about hate/jealousy...something like the longer you hold on to it, the more the other person wins)....I get not everyone feels the same way, but that's just my opinion. The thing this gen that seems to be more rampant than I ever remember it (in my ov...
BC itself isn't THE reason to get an X1, it's just one of many. By itself it's not a reason...but it's a straw that broke the camels back
Just keeps getting better and better....
This is exactly why we have Betas
I get that RotTR timed exclusive for a year by itself is not enough to make you go out and buy an X1 if you have no other desire to. But for gamers that have both or are on the fence it DOES make a difference. It's not something that will change someone's mind if they hate X1.
That being said, what I DON'T understand is how some people can pretend that it's a huge deal that it's coming to PS4...then in the same breath say they have the option to play it o...
It's also funny how many people acting like COD exclusive DLC for a month is a huge deal (even though it's a primarily online game anyway...EASILY worth waiting a month)...are the same people saying that waiting a year for a game that is already at or close to the optimized max for this gen...isn't a big deal. Hypocrisy much?
So people can't play it during the year between Fallout and Holiday season 2016? ...I plan to. Fallout and Halo 5 are gonna eat a TON of my time, but I will still be making time for this game and others before Holiday 2016.....just think...this time next year you COULD be playing TR. Anyone seeing this as EITHER when Fallout 4 comes out OR Holiday 2016 are looking for excuses as to why it's a "bad idea"...it's stretching it.
"How many times xbox f...
...could be that because MS let them because they know a year seals the deal for most gamers that own both consoles...that and maybe they are about to announce that the X1 is 60fps on top of being 1080p...so now there's not even a reason to wait for a year of more optimization (well...not a "major" reason). Either way MS had no issue with it...so they are confident with the idea.
Month long DLC exclusives are pointless...a year long like TR makes a ton more sense honestly. It's long enough that people that own both consoles won't want to wait...esp for a game that already looks fantastic...so even if the extra year of tweeks makes it look better (assuming those don't ALSO apply to the X1 version)...it's not enough to wait for. PS4-Only owners may be upset by this, but if you step back, it was a very smart move for MS. It's exclusive long enough ...
K, your loss
Agree 100%. (just the quote about it being a renaissance seems weird...the news/rumors about Pes 2016 and MGS being 1080p seem more like the "renaissance" announcement...esp being that almost every X1 exclusive is already 1080p).
People that own AND LOVE all the consoles typically aren't bothered by all the crap that fanboys bicker over.
The last TR was 1080p on X1.
What's more important is the FPS. My hope is that it will get to 60fps...if it ends up being 1080p 30fps that will be great, and I still look forward to playing it...but I'd prefer 900p 60Fps over 1080p 30fps if that is an option...FPS makes more difference than Res. 900p upscaled is not different enough from native 1080p to blink an eye over.
From MS's perspective this was a very very smart move. As far as consoles go, it will be exclusive for a year...meaning that by the time it hits PS4, it will be old news and gamers will be flooded with the next holiday's games to play...so essentially it won't matter at all. With the game already being confirmed to be 1080p on X1...can't really see what performance gains would be worth waiting a year for (assuming that those gains don't show up on the X1 version as well)...
You're not allowed to be happy for the future if it's for the "wrong" console. SMH
I don't have a problem with Kickstarters nor exclusives, but combining them both seems wrong. I won't support a kickstarter that intends to be exclusive...why should fans foot a chunk of the bill for an exclusive? Companies like MS, Sony, Nintendo should foot the bill if they are intending to put the word "exclusive" somewhere.
As far as this game specifically...I'm debating with myself if I even care about it anymore....if you asked me 10 or so years ...
Or the time when the Dying Light video was mislabeled and and both versions were the X1 version for like a minute of the comparison video...and people were swearing that THAT specific section looked better on PS4....absolute CLASSIC. I had already done the tests myself on my own TV, but that was when it confirmed that it wasn't just ME thinking there was no noticeable difference...it was people seeing what they wanted to see. ...well that and when it was proven that even with the same spe...
Right now PS4 is 0k/0FPS
More to the point...if they swore it was 900p and it wasn't...it shows they can't tell at all what the difference is....they just hear what someone tells them it is, then run with it like they "knew"
They all have great things to offer (although it feels like Nintendo is pulling back to start getting behind NX...or whatever they end up calling it)...however it does seem like X1 has a better 2015 and 2016 (although 16 will be closer with UC4 and Horizon..most likely....coming out).
