developpers don't always have say in when a game is released. Like the article says, the game just looks unfinished. I blame the money grubbing Midway/xbox who rushed it. The idea of three different characters had some potential, but if your boss tells you he wants something done by 4pm today, you can expect it incomplete.

AS Ebay3rd pointed out, when using actual commercial cars, you run into opposition from automakers who don't want their cars to be crashed and exploded. I guess it makes them seem unsafe or shows the "what can happen if you use our product"
Motorstorm had no problem with their cars/trucks and bikes have crash damage, since they were entirely fictional.

I'm saying that we had lower gaming standards. The critiques of this game is the linear button mashing. But isnt that 99.998% of games in 80's early 90's. They don't pass by today's standards, where game need to have cgi graphics, 1080p, 120 fps, huge worlds that are massive and non-linear, but still manage to flow,deep character developpment, massive weapon/items, ,perfect button configuring, where if a game makes you hit the same button more than 3 times in a row, is called button mashing...

They have bottomless pockets and are selling their systems at a loss, hoping the game sales with be the money makers (hasn't really happened yet, but fall '07 looks good). I still remember playign that on my cousin's turbo graphic 16. It was the sh*t! The memory Dragon kicking 3 lined up monks in a single blow still makes me chuckle. Man, we are spoiled as gamers today. I could see a 8+ rating if this was the original 80's review.

While all those titles should help ps3 sales, NA, Europe and Japan all have different tastes. Not many of us in NA buy DS with educational learning games (we don't like school either), but in japan, "learn english" sells like hot cakes. Japan likes more fantasy and very "japanese tv show-ish" games (wario's smooth move game). Thats one of the reasons MS isnt that big in Japan. They are more aimed at FPS and "mature" based games. The monsters also seemed to have good AI. I though the last video with the rope swinging pillar top fight had some pretty still enemies

I think MS is secretly developping their own disks, WGD (windows green disks). While it will be able to display 1924i (if you overclocked the player) it will have the tendancy to crash on you, where the user will have to press eject+pause+stop to reboot the disk.

I still find it odd that ign is still stating that MGS4 will be out next year. In the "remastered" trailer which was released not too long ago, the ending clearly stated 07 (with bonus sounds effects).
