BF 2042 nearly half price a week after its release. Same thing happened with BFV. Anyone who buys the next one at MSRP is a fool.

Uh. Wow. I assumed this would meet the bar of the arkham games but this looks like it will set a whole new one. Tempering my excitement until i play it because i dont like hyping games that arent out but… wow.
Man i just want them to be able to get away from their vehicle spawning system. Nothing breaks immersion like seeing the same supercar 6 times in a row.
It was like hide and seek. I think it was a 10 man free-for-all and everyone had a different human target. So you had to hunt someone while also being hunted. You know what your target looks like and have a general direction of where they are and have no idea who it is that is hunting you. The NPCs around the level were all duplicates of the player characters model so if you stood in a group with one or two NPC duplicates of yourself you could trick the person hunting you into killing an NPC...
So we got 2 of these games packaged together a couple of years ago and now they are releasing a version with an additional game.
These companies are just telling me to not buy their nostalgia bait because another, more complete version, will follow down the road.

So sick of the hype cycle w these big releases… halo turned out well, thankfully, but think of all the ones that didnt. 2042 is just the most recent in a looooooong line of examples.
This is off topic but the original multiplayer in assassins creed (the one after 2 i think?) was some of the most inventive multiplayer I have ever played. One of my most memorable gaming moments came from that game.
It was perfect until everyone unlocked the eagle vision power a week or so after lunch. It completely defeated the purpose of the game… why they added that, I will never understand.
Nintendo could take ultimate and add a character every year indefinitely and it would work out just fine for everyone. Sakurai can consult. It would be less work for him and still give fans something to look forward too.
Or we can all just let it die and be happy we were here for the ride. I dont see any other way this series can continue other than re-releases on newer generation hardware.

BFV had some serious hurdles to overcome but no one can argue that the game was more feature complete than 2042 at launch; Which is saying something in retrospect because it was missing a good deal compared to BF1. Think I’m blowing smoke? 2042 doesnt even have a scoreboard… think about that. How did such a basic feature as a scoreboard not make the cut? Crou...
