Its very hard to get the balance and rewards right in a live service game. The greed of the publisher always seems to seep in and ruin the experience. That or the game is balance so that it demands to be the only game you could possibly have time for.

This game was dead in the water as soon as they said it would be a live service. Couple that with the most uninspired loot that adds nothing to the look of your character and you can begin to see why it never stood a chance. Gamers have gotten wise to these trendy cash grabs (looking at you Anthem). The worst part is that executives will look at this game and think that people dont want a big budget marvel game… Imagine what this couldve been…

Hades is very good. But as far as roguelikes of this specific style (top down), Children of Morta has my vote for the best.

Honestly I think Children of Morta is way better than Hades. Granted Hades is still very very good but I just liked CoM better in every way.

These characters interact with eachother in a specific way that tells a story. Sometimes these stories require an antagonist or “bad guy”.
