Imo the majority of x1 s sales are people upgrading from og x1.
Man didn't know that there are a few germans like me on this site.
Most sundays of the year german stores are closed, but open sundays are something like an event where everybody seems to grab their friends or family to go on a shopping spree.
Ps4 hands down. It has exclusives, has huge variety of games, better quality of games, has the bigger Community, VR. If you are mainly a gamer then pick up ps4, if you mostly care for watching 4k blurays and just play games from time to time then pick up x1.
Pc elite gamers don't need lame console games. They rather buy a gtx1070 for their rig to play league of legends and world of warcraft @4k500fps.
Just joking. I'm sure there will be a pc port down the road. They will probably just have to wait 6+ months.

I would expect it the other way around. If scorpio fails phil spencer will release his games on switch( besides pc+ps4). Can't imagine ms shareholders to accept the developement of another after two failed consoles. Their gaming division has been a sink for boatloads of money over the years and it's astounding the didn't get rid of xbox when you look at how they usually handle non profitable business.

That's easy! Once scorpio releases people will stop buying ps4's. People who already own a ps4 will buy scorpio. People don't care if xbox has no exclusives and microsoft doesn't own worthwile ip's, they will just care for MORE POWAAA!

That would be like saying a 3d tv is a console if someone would develop a game for ps4 that is only made for stereoscopic 3d because psvr is just a device to output video. The processing all comes from the ps4.

a) exclusives that its predecessor doesn't have

b) features(like vr for example) that its predecessor doesn't offer
+
c) vastly more power than its predecessor
then one could consider it as next generation console.
If you deny these three points as valid reasons then you could also say ps4 isn't next generation after ps3, x1 is...
Lol never realised this back then when i had my pokemon red edition. But pokemon red still remains as one of my most beloved gaming experiences. Back then pokemon was something new and like no game i played before. And the feeling when i caught the missing no. pokemon, or the joy when charmander finally became charizard, uncomparable. Oh man, that nostalgy.

As a day one buyer you invest alot time in collecting the guns and gear you think are worth. Then the dlc comes and all the stuff you got is obsolete because they are weak in comparison with the new stuff. So you start all over collecting the dlc stuff until the next dlc where the stuff you now collected becomes obsolete again and so on.

But the audience for an xbox console is very, very limited. I don't think that it will attract many more others than the usual hardcore xbox fans und want to move on and leave behind the failure called x1. Ofcourse scorpios status as the most powerful console will attract some gamers who didn't relate to xbox before but surely not enough to result in scorpios sales numbers being much higher than x1's
