It's amazing how close it looks to CGI pre-rendered images. The difference is still visible enough, but it begins to be more and more thin. Real-time radiosity FTW!
I totally agree with you. It's outrageous to pay a full retail game price for something that worths an expansion pack at its best. I'll wait to see the multiplayer to confirm what I've said, but if the improvements on this side of the game are anything like the so-called "scale" on the single player campaign, this game could be considered doomed. I mean, even a single GTA IV DLC sold at 20 bucks has more and better improvements than that.
I also think IW...
For the larger maps and vehicle, it was more about a matter of studio than platform's. Infinity Ward developed the original Call of Duty while the expansion pack you talk about was developed by Gray Matter which is now the core team at Treyarch developing Call of Dutys. Call of Duty 3 actually had a similar multiplayer to what you described for UO with vehicles and pretty large maps, and it was a console exclusive game.
They shouldn't have taken this title...
It's a series of article CVG write for E3, they don't consider Sniper 2 as the ultimate most anticipated game, they've done the same kind of article for MW3 and Battlefield 3 too.
I think it's easier to add stuffs on an engine to keep up the frame rate at 30 than to 60 FPS, I mean, it might not be proportional.
I hope the "pro" reviews will be fair. From today's previews, it's clear that the press wasn't that impressed (while the action might have look good).
Well, there's still multiplayer to be looked...
I'll translate: this isn't news, it was all revealed and detailed weeks ago by Game Informer.
The whole storyline has been leaked weeks ago.
I'm not making the most hating comments towards CoD and I still had little hope for a game with two studios but today's previews imply all the same thing: an over-scripted generic shooter.
Well they gonna die and revive for the next MW. Just like Fast & Furious characters ya know.
"It doesn't take the most powerful nations of the world to create a global conflict. Just the will of a single man..."
That sums up the dumbness of Modern Warfare's storyline.
I can't get more excited about BF3's plot though, it seems like a random iraq/iran conflict from what we've seen... I hope they could bring a WW3 scenario in a more credible way than IW did.
I love how the author sounds enthusiast... (/sarcasm)
it's one of the cvg recap articles about the most anticipated games for E3, they also did one for battlefield;
It's more like Battlefield than Call of Duty. In CoD you're like only an arm and a gun floating in the air while in Battlefield, you really feel your body (hell, even in the latest Brothers in Arms).
I don't care if it's ported months after, I hope there will be a X360 version...
If you've looked at the credits and McNamara's statements (Team Bondi's boss), Rockstar helped a lot for the development of the game, it's not like most of the other publishers just watching and packing up the product.
"The best version of the two games will be on PC"
Unless the PC version of Modern Warfare 3 is neglected like MW2's (no dedi-servers, no lean, very limited system setting, no mods, etc.).
For me the story is over in L.A. Noire. They could do a spiritual successor set in another time with different characters though.
I think with the trailer, we forgot that the Activision vs IW former employees (Respawn) + EA was supposed to take place yesterday. Good job Activision...
Battlefield 3 was shown in its pre-alpha form. While it may also be the case for MW3, if you compare E3 and final product footages of MW2 and BLOPS, it didn't change too much because they only did slight modifications over the CoD 4 engine, and it's the same formula for MW3.
At the contrary, if you look at a pre-alpha footage of CoD 4 shown at the E3 2007, and if you compare it to the "gold" game, the improvements are significant because they were really dev...
E3's just up ahead. I'm sure if they do a live on-stage demo, it'll be on console (probably PS3). At least, I think they'll show us some footage on those.
