I play on Xbox and to be honest I would be happy with no changes. It is a fantastic controller already and doesn't need any gimmicks. The built in battery is nice but I actually prefer my own rechargeable batteries as they have better capacity and I always have another pair on charge.

From what I can gather Microsoft has commited to always having at least a $50 difference in price (digital cheaper). This will be RRP so if so retailers choose to do different that is on them. I believe the Xbox will boast higher specs. Phil Spencer has, I believe, commited to having the most powerful hardware moving forward. There will likely be 2 consoles, an affordable one that will prob be the same or lower specs than the PS4 and a premium that will be better. No different than most other consumer electronics in that customers have the option of the best at a premium price or a more affordable option.

I doubt very much this is how it works. The specs are not decided that late into development. Dev kits would have gone out by now (and possibly a while ago) to allow Devs to get to grips with hardware.

I don't play on PC so excuse me if the following question is silly but what difference does it make to the consumer which virtual store it's on? It's not like a co sole whereby you have a financial investment in buying one or the other, you simply download the launcher/store app? Again, sorry if I'm missing something fundamental that would result in usual Steam users now being unable to play the game unless making some sort of extra financial investment.

For me it's turn based but this is partly an emotional reaction based on Final Fantasy in particular. My fondest gaming memories were FF7 and 8 and I also really enjoyed lost odyssey. I tried playing the newer Final Fantasy games and I just don't enjoy them as much and I find myself wanting to go back to the turn based. This is really impressive as a static render but animating it effectively is what would really bring it to life and make it comparable.
There is no way the game is selling as expected. If it was it would not have seen the pretty huge discounts within a couple of weeks of launch.

One X has somewhere around 60% more pixels on screen running natively. There is no way you would not see the difference even at normal viewing distance.
