So I am not sure how to take this. The last few days have shown Sony to be somewhat disingenuous. And now he is pointing to previous consoles (which ones) and said that people want to keep console for 7 years after releasing a mid console refresh last gen?
I am.not sure this is 100% true. If it were built to take full advantage of what the PS5 could do it wouldn't work on PS4. Ratchet and Clank would not work on PS4 due to the HDD limitations.
I think it is smart to not isolate 100million plus PS4 players, especially when actually preordering a PS5 right now is not very straight forward (in the UK at least) especially if you want that digital only console (which is what I want as I don't purchase discs anymore)
Saying ...
To be honest I don't agree with this. I AM an Xbox player and so I'm sure this response will be marked down to me being a fan boy but regardless, here are my reasons for disagreeing.
As I see it, the only exclusive that will have console selling power on PS5 at launch is Miles Morales. And whilst I have no doubt it will be fantastic, it is not a "full game". Other than that, everything else that will be worth playing is multiplat and COULD end up looking better on t...
Looks like it
I disagree, I think it gives the story more weight and allows for Cortana's redemption. If you follow Halo lore this is similar to what happened in the Forerunner flood war. One of the best forerunner AI's, Medicant Bias, was corrupted by the flood via the logic plague.
Would be cool if the flood was behind all of this and I similar corruption effected Cortana.
This adds some emotional weight to the story.
This is all my opinion of course :)
Who is downvoting the fact that you are looking forward to it?
It's £10 per game and adds up. I am an adult and earn good money but that does not mean I am frivolous. It is about something being good value for money, not cheap or expensive.
Customers will dictate the price by either purchasing or not purchasing at $70.
Halo 4 was a good game with a good campaign. Agree that Halo 5 was bad.
The rumoured Lockhart supposedly has an SSD and the same processor as the Series X. These are the 2 weakest links in the One X chain. Remove the One X as it is too similar to the Lockhart and may cause confusion to the uninformed/casual consumer. Remove the all digital because the Lockhart will be digital only to make it even cheaper and they don't want 2 digital only products on the market. Keep the One S as a super low price console that will STILL play the new games from Microsoft for ...
Exactly why the approach is fantastic. You don't NEED to get the new console to be in the Xbox eco system and you can still play the new games. If/when you want better fidelity then you can upgrade or get powerful PC.
We have already seen it running on series x after spending only 2 weeks porting and it was impressive. This will probably be better still.
In my opinion only 1 game of Sony's thus far actually uses the speed and that is Ratchet and Clank. It is cool and obviously designed in order to show off that capability.
Series X has dedicated hardware for ray tracing.
This is true but the audience that they are able to potentially sell the games to has also increased significantly so the increased cost has likely been netted off by the increased sales. It will help drive subscription services. I currently have Gamepass Ultimate and I would happily pay a little more for this and not pay an extra 10 per game. I won't be able to play 3rd party game on day one but a lot of good games are making way to the service (just started Witcher 3 for the first time ...
Yes, a multi-billion dollar company is paying trolls to post on N4G.... Not selling the most of something is not a fail and is no reason to stop. If this were the case we would have 1 option for all consumer products.
Full disclosure, I used the below comment a few days ago on another article but it is relevent here-
For me this is a great feature and something I want. I don't want to have 2 consoles set up or to keep connecting an old console to play games from the back end of the current gen that I have purchased and and yet to complete.
To be able to complete my backlog and play ALL my games on one device is high up my list of requirements for a new console. It is not hig...
This is a good article. I think everything mentioned is reasonable and I am really looking forward to it. For me Fable is most wanted. I Loved Fable 2 in particular and would love to see what Playground (if it is them) could do with this franchise.
If this is a good price then it is an excellent idea. It would be able to outperform the Xbox One X due to the better CPU and SSD. It is not for me as I have a 4K TV and I sit pretty close to it (probably a bit too close) and so I wanrt the best fidelity possible.
If I was still running a 1080p set then I would seriously consider this cheaper option.
For those that are saying "you can get a 4K TV for £300", you are technically correct, but for gaming these set...

To be able to complete my backlog and play ALL my games on one device is high up my list of requirements for a new console. It is not higher or as high as exclusive games or power but it comes third for me.
Add to that the fact that some of these g...
I have a 2tb HDD that I will use in my Series X and move games around. The transfer of a game doesn't take long and will be a lot cheaper. Will get the official SSD once it is below £100
