Now in 2012, BLIZZARD wants a chance to expand their network to the PS3.
I can't speak about Witcher 2 (XBOX 360) or Mass Effect 3 (PS3) because those games are recently released games and we don't have good solid tracked numbers on them yet....
but Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 for example, that game didn't really do as well and struggled to shift 500,000 units when it was $60.
Same thing happened with Bioshock and the paradigm seemed to transfer to Bioshock 2.

There's alot of good financial reasons to go to holiday 2014.....so its hard to gauge if either Sony or MS are interested in holiday 2013 or not.
Either way, I'm enjoying what I have now.
By doing that AMD can potentially give Sony the best 'bang for the buck' price, similar to IBM, perhaps better.
Also Sony doesn't want to work with or trust IBM again because IBM screwed Sony by selling some of the CELL tech to MicroSoft
NEXT GEN hardware with no true NEXT GEN software is meaningless.
Why?
Because there is no such thing as NEXT GEN software.....not even the best PC games are delivering NEXT GEN software.
Instead, the best AAA budget PC developers are delivering Diablo 3.
We also had WITCHER 2....we had HARD RESET, BLACKLIGHT, STAR WARS: TOR, and soon GUILD WARS 2.
As nice as some of those games are, none of those big budget PC exclusive games is truly NEXT GEN.
Why not?
Because developers aren't ready for true NE...

obviously they weren't PS2 games, but I think they'd be good games to remaster onto this generation's consoles.
Squeenix could remake FF7, which is obviously a very popular request, but if they did, Sony would automatically be entitled to their cut if it released in America, and FF7 would cost too much to only release in Japan.
Only EXTREME negotiation would enable an FF7 remake.
Not impossible.....but difficult.

But other than that, I too never preorder, because I get the same stuff on a first day walk in buy....actually, I get it that whole first week.
There are several reasons new consoles from MS and Sony right now would be a bit premature.
1. economy is still bad..... and both Sony & MS have lost alot of money that they could use this period to "fill their coffers".
2. Many Developers & publishers are having a hard time staying in business with just the current generation..... a new gen right now would bankrupt many.
