That's Microsoft paying/incentivising Valve.

Obviously we all know that EA was the one who brought THE ORANGE BOX to the PS3....great game, $20...I bought it a year ago when I purchased my PS3 at Fry's for $400.

In fact, Valve has gone on record and said/implied that EA was chomping at the bit to release L4D 1 and 2 on the PS3, but VALVE refused and cited the bad ported ORANGE BOX, which we all know was made in 2007, and by the way, was patche-fixed and runs great to...

But as a PS3 fan, seeing how MS has continually stuck it to PS3 this gen...I can't say I would be too angry about it if it did happen.

This would be a surprise though..but maybe not, if you think about the roots of the original (PS1).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS are NOT law, nor are they necessarily legal or just in a court of law or in public opinion.

T&C's are a set of rules that are made up, written, and often changed and modified at the will of the person whom has made said rules up.

A court of law, especially in California (a state that champions consumer rights), may just in fact side with what I am claiming, that Sony is mistreating its consumers..AGAIN, just like with the Spyware.

They owe me what they promised me when I bought this console for $400.

OTHER OS was part of that understanding.

Look I understand why they are doing it...what I don't like is THE WAY they are doing it...they haven't said please...they haven't given an explaination, no apology, no nothing. Just a "suit" doing things in their cold and robotic way. Sony has a history of dong Sh8t like this and I don't take kindly to them giving me the "proverbial fing...

Sony has been planning this for many months....

That's why Slims never had the feature.

No...seriously....she's got herpes

I'm a very vocal PS3 supporter, but I know BS when I see it.

And as far as selling my PS3...I would...I would sell it back to Sony for $400 and if I decided to buy another PS3 it would be under the agreement that it doesn't have an OTHER OS option.

I bought my PS3 with that option and the removal of it is unjust and should be illegal and a breach of the understanding that I had when I purchased the product. I was lied to by a company that seemingly thinks it can do ...

Sony has been planning this for months and took its steps with Slim models.

Also, you SHOULD care about what Sony does and/or did because its a definite pattern.

Like I said, Sony Overreacts to piracy SEVERAL times in the past, and here they are BADLY reacting again.

If it weren't for Sony being so paranoid, Walkman brand wouldn't be in the crapper that it is today which has been usurped by Apple IPOD.

Those points/facts of history are impor...

Can Sony just do ANYTHING they want to me as a consumer simply because they are a BILLIONARE? I'm weak they are strong, so sh8t on me and everyone and anyone else...is that what people are down with?

That is my point with this...they didn't even say please or rub my tummy...they just come in and take my sh8t away...wtf.

Sony has a history with this kind of behavior and I certainly haven't forgotten....have you?

And keep in mind, that TERMS OF SERVICE does NOT necessarily make anything "legal".

Terms of services are changed and modified at will of the person writing them up and sometimes...actually often, "rules" are made up that often don't jibe with "legal" or "just" in a court of law or public opinion.

TOS isn't a be all end all...especially when I've paid my $400 as a consumer with a specific understanding.

Edit...I'd ...

How is it a cost when it is already built into the system and infrastructure of the OS?

In fact, removing it would actually present a "cost"...would it not?

Just trying to get a feel for what you are saying...maybe you can explain.

I'm pretty pissed about this.

Why? Because I bought my PS3 a year ago for $400 with this feature with the understanding that I could use it whenever I decided to. Even though I haven't yet, I was planning to get a large Harddrive and eventually do it to try out Linux for the first time ever on any system, PC or otherwise.

Sony taking this feature away simply because "they can" is not cool in my book.
How about I ship my PS3 to Sony and they give me ...

All of us that have PS3's we DO in fact pay for our online gaming.
Everytime I plop down my 60 dollars I HAVE in fact paid for my online gaming features. Developers put that feature in the game and it's on the disk. The last game I bought BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2 had it and I'm loving it.

Why should I pay Microsoft to play RANDOM games online when I've already paid. XBOX LIVE sounds like a total scam perpetrated by Microsoft who simply want to block me from the content ...

Some of those features seem pretty cool, and I hereby admit that the PSN would be better if it had them.

I do believe that some of them will arrive...like Crossgame chat.

But here's why the feature WILL be free. Crossgame chat is only good if you can use it with your friends and or the people you want to talk to right? Obviously, the feature would be useless if one segment has the feature but the majority of the PSN users didn't. That is why Sony will not charge f...

Because I used to get disconnected all the time when I was using the WiFi...but it wasn't the PSN, it was my Linksys combo modem router when using WiFi...its kinda old (bought in 2005).

When I hardwired it, now I play for hours upon hours...10 hours if I'm really enjoying my game(s) and no disconnects and no lag.

You might need to check. good luck.

There is at least a 25% chance that Final Fantasy 14 will go to XBOX 360.

Just sayin.

PS3 users have had facebook, Twitter, PANDORA, You Tube, the ability to download free movies (STAGEVU.COM), and access to almost everything on the internet for years now....all with no subscription fee.

I'm not saying LIVE sucks or anything, I'm just giving you some info.
