Yep. Our recession is worse than the US's because of the exchange rate, and our apartments are too small for big tvs. Two reasons why people prefer handhelds over consoles.
For me, WWII games are better because they require a bit more FPS skill. At least they should. No lock-on missiles, just cannons. No IR goggles, just moonlight. No guided TOW, just bazookas. More simple, so for me, they're more fun. THat's why I'm so looking forward to BF1943. I get my WWII airplane fix again.
Of course, WaW is really easy to play. Too easy. It's boring.
PUNCTUATION WILL SAVE YOUR SOUL!
On the surface at least, we finally are getting a game that looks like it may have an interesting story. The story may actually - perish the thought - have some depth.
But what do gamers want?
Gamers want the same predictable excrement they get in every single game they have ever played.
You people are idiots.
And ALL of them are stupid.
Including this one!
I love how they "source" Playstation Lifestyle as the first people to break the story.
This story was flying around the Japanese gaming boards for weeks before they "broke" it.
Apparently the ghostbusters found a work-around to the "crossing the streams" problem.
No full destruction = boring and lazy.
They should at least be trying for more realistic environments.
Not there for me. Might be some IP block in place, as I'm not in NA.
I would buy a tonne more games if prices were half of what they are now. I guarantee I would spend more money in total than I do now, just because I wouldn't mind paying $35 for an "okay" game.
I would have bought Haze, for Christ's sake. I just bought Blazing Angels 2 for about $20, and am very happy. I wouldn't have been happy had it been $70.
I would absolutely love a Rugby game. I was thinking about picking up PS2 Rugby 08 to play on my PS3, but I haven't played it so I don't know if it's any good.
Because we've been hit with pay cuts. Who needs video games when you can't save any money? I would have had a PSP by now if it hadn't been for the fall of the falsely inflated economy.
If you'd like a shortcut, try "Jpn" store, not "Jap" store.
Thanks.
And hold on a minute, where did this blogger get his numbers for COD4? 50,000? According to media create this game sold more than 130,000 up to April 2008, and I'm sure it's sold more since then because I rarely see COD4 on the shelves.
Oh yeah. Prices are stupid in Japan. Even used games that are popular regularly get more than anyone else pays for a brand new one. It can actually be cheaper to import games, and that's including the duty.
I don't know about Bioshock, but COD4 had a 20% ownership rate on the PS3 when it came out. COD4 is one of the only games that I've payed and consistently found low lag servers on....because it's popular in Japan.
Be careful when you make sweeping generalizations.
Everyone says that Japanese gamers don't like FPSs, but that has changed, I think. In three months, COD4 sold only 130,000 on PS3 in Japan. That seems like it sucks, but that was when the PS3 had only sold about 700,000 systems. 20% of Japanese gamers bought the game...I'd say those are pretty good numbers, no? Not Halo worthy, no, but not many games are Halo worthy.
I don't want to knock your friend or anything, but every PS3 site in the country is salivating at the thought of Killzone 2. Sure, in the past Japan hasn't been really a great place for FPSs, but COD4 did all right, and so did the PC Battlefield series.
Anyway, casuals probably don't know a lot about it, but (I have no idea because I'm not there) I'm guessing that casuals in North America and Europe probably don't know about Killzone 2 either.
Gamers in Japan know th...
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
I would highly recommend that anyone who loves WaW not buy BF1943. If you LOVE WaW, you are probably one of those annoying twitchy 15 year old boys who can't be quiet while the adults are in the room.
If you like WaW but think that there is room for improvement, then you should give BF1943 a try.
