But anyways, I think MS knew this was always going to be a promotional tool to help the hype machine and nothing else. After the dust settled and eveyone gave it some thought, I think it was clear that this would've apealed to just about no one.

It's true. DS has Sixaxis and a rechargeable built in battery alone makes it more advanced. I've had my controller since 2007 and the battery is still good like day one. No need for nickel and diming with "play and charge kit" BS.
So if you're playing Tekken or Soul Caliber and have to do one of those moves that require a circular motion, is the pad going to pop up and out all the time? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Aside from that, what a rip off price. ONLY with the play and charge kit. Thankfully the Dual Shock doesn't require stupid add-ons. Just plug it into your PS3 with a standard USB cable and you're charging. So much more elegant and simple.
Big deal. I prefer to install anyway.

My favorite was PS2/Dreamcast era where they paid attention to the single player experience.
This era is all about online multiplayer with shallow single player. Not all that great IMO.
