I loved Gex. Shame the series isnt around any more.
It sounds like you were playing it on Easy if you think the alien wasn't a threat. The alien did more than just 'look around then leave'.
It's hard to take your opinion seriously when you think Alien Isolations' creators didn't respect the source material. It's more true to the original movie than any of the sequel films or games were.
I can't help but think The Evil Within wouldn't be getting this much praise if Shinji Mikami wasn't behind it. People seem to be blind to (or flat out ignoring) its MANY faults just because its a Mikami horror game. It's not a bad game....but it certainly isn't the horror masterpiece that people are touting it as. There have been many better horror games in recent years that have received far more criticism than The Evil Within has. I just don't get it.

I agree. Once you understand the 3 day time system and learn songs that can control the flow of time, it becomes very easy to navigate your way through the days without ever running out of time.
People who complain that the time limit ruined the game just didn't bother to understand it.
The 3DS version looks incredible, but I'm not sure if I like the moon's redesign. It doesn't look quite as scary.
Alien Isolation was a few hours too long but I thought it was a much better example of the survival-horror genre than The Evil Within was. I can't help but wonder if people would be so forgiving of The Evil Within's faults if Shinji Mikami wasn't behind it.
I wouldn't call Fatal Frame 3's controls an 'unplayable disaster' at all.

I haven't agreed with the 10/10 and 9/10 reviews that have been popping up but there is no way it is a 4/10 game. That sort of score should be given to poorly made games filled with bugs and other gameplay/control issues.
Can't wait to replay KH2.

It doesn't take a genius to see that the shots on the right are a major downgrade though. Let's not pretend that the comparison would look any different if the scenes were exactly the same.
Yeah sadly I doubt that non gamers are going to care about Gamergate or whether there is corruption in the gaming/journalism industry. If you aren't invested in gaming, then why would you care about the intricacies of the industry?
I think a lot of people forget that non HD games look really unfocused and pixelated on HD TVs. This game might not have had much of an upgrade from the Gamecube version, but I will just be happy to be able to play it on my HD TV without getting eye strain.
I haven't thought about those games in years. I used to love Ape Escape. I never got to finish it though because my mom sold it at a garage sale :(
