I honestly thought RE5 was better, but I definitely don't think BC is as bad as everyone says it is. I enjoyed it, though it wasn't great or anything. My only big complaints were the length and the checkpoints really. Guess the online sucked too but the SP was fun and the game-play worked well for the most part.
Blue Dragon and Viva Pinata are great games. Never played any of the others though which I guess fits into why the writer wrote his opinion on these.
Seeing as this article states that he doesen't get on well with Sony, and then for those who don't know Microsoft funded the company, I don't really see them making a game for the PS3 anytime soon. They will probably stick to Nintendo and Microsoft I would predict.
In any case Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are fantastic JRPG's and LO is definitely better than FF13 IMO (though FF13 is still good). Still making my way through Blue Dragon's so can't really compare atm.
Wow FF13 was the first JRPG IGN didn't biasedly judge this gen, and this one doesen't seem to be either. Who knows if I will try it though, some of the ideas sound like it may make it enjoyable.
Just putting this out there, but didn't Kojima once say that even he gets confused with the MGS story? Isn't that a sign that even the guy who wrote it finds it a mess?....
Well for me Kotor would definitely be 1. and Halo 1&2 would be in the top 5. Otherwise I am stuck between several other games such as Jsde Empire, Fable, Shenmue 2, and a few others.
It has nothing to do with lazyness. They make the content after they have finished the final product of the game. They don't finish the game right before it releases you know... usually a month or more before it actually comes out.
Ok first this game sold well on both systems. It definitely sold more on PS3 but the 360 sales were still pretty damn good.
2nd anyone who says it looks crap on 360 is a moronic fanboy. I have been playing this on 360 due to the fact I don't have a PS3. I am still going at 70 hours and have finished the game and it looks fantastic. Also I have seen my friend play the PS3 version. There is only a slight difference, nothing huge. All of you fanboys are just twisting words out of pr...
hilarious, what a great idea :P
I only buy point cards so this is no issue for me. Does suck for those who buy them off the service though.
Now if only Microsoft would restock the damn cards in my city. They are out of stock everywhere atm!
So glad I don't play MW2. Too many idiots plaguing the game and making it worse, when it isn't that great in the first place. Hopefully more and more people will convert to BC2.
I would say Heavenly Sword isn't the best example. In this case Splinter Cell has several other modes which some can be played in SP (possibly all I am not too sure). Heavenly Sword however was only a single SP story. I do agree on you with the replaying part though.
I don't think anyone has thought of it this way but when a game has co-op in the story, it is usually the same as the SP story. However in conviction they are different stories all together. So as this article says about 9 hours in total for the two of them which seems like a pretty normal amount of time for story.
I do understand where those who want to purely play just the SP by itself though. But really this game is meant to be a whole package of modes. Also like this article ...
Halo has a far better story than almost every FPS out there. Though I guess a lot of it is just how much detail they have put into the universe and lore of it (I am sure anyone who actually knows anything about it can't disagree with me there). The Halo games by no means have amazing stories but like I said they are better than most.
The first was nothing like God of war, second looks nothing like it either. Stupid comparison.
Another Shenmue would be incredible, but I wouldn't really want it to be a big Move title. Doesn't sound like it is Shenmue in any case though :(
He apparently is a designer and programmer too but obviously we only see his speaking. But like I said, he isn't the only one who works on the games so if he does do any design he isn't the only one to blame.
Sad how everyone only judges him on Fable and his promises rather than the games he has worked on themselves. I wonder how many people here have even played The movies, Black and White and Theme park. Heck the first Fable was great, I never read the internet hype so I played it for what it was. Fable 2 definitely wasn't amazing but it was still a good game.
Also everyone seems to forget he isn't the only one who makes the games. Lionhead makes the games, he's just a part of Lion...
Bayonetta kicked ass so I am definitely looking forward to this :).
What Dennis says brings up a point which I have been telling people for awhile now. Just because a game is in development for a long time DOESEN'T mean it should be judged on that amount of time. In the end the game will still be a game and should be judged like all others. The reason why games like Too Human and also the recent Alan Wake take a long time is because of several issues such as starting from scratch yet people expect it has to be perfect because of that long amount of time, ...
