No, it won't. If you played both, you'd know that PS2 doesn't stand a chance quality wise and at least Destiny has a decent (albeit short) progression design. At the very least it is not a game that you have to pay to progress.
^ gives me hope!
Maybe that way I'd have some football game to play this gen.
The way it is now is disgusting. The best part of my last two years playing Fifa was when I booted other games after that and thought "wow, these are responsive controls". Every game feels much better if you play them after struggling with Fifs truck driving controls.
The lack of content is the main business-design for Destiny. It's not for lack of money that the game is so barebones. It is radically design as a DLC vending machine, that's why you only have 5 SP maps to play at through dozens of "different" missions.
And yes, we know you don't believe they spent 500 millions on this.
Exactly. If they were to stop evolving, it should have been while they were at the peak, 2010 or 2012. They kind of destroyed the game after that. Now Fifa is like playing soccer with monster trucks on slippery ice. Unbelievable how worse the control response became.
Since neither have fluid and responsive controls anymore, you pretty much already gave part of the answer. .
Marketing >>> Quality and content.
Took a little for them to finally figure it out, but Destiny proves they got the message we sent them.
Now, with Destiny breaking sales records, it's not even arguable anymore. We shaped the business for the next years in some of the worst possible ways.
Might hold it back, but it was done this way on purpose.
The thing is... Destiny is a DLC cow. If the content was intense, extensive, varied, they think people wouldn't be buying so many DLC.
Well, guess what? People won't stand a month playing this ripped apart game.
I'm enjoying it, for sure, but I know I'll soon be back to the relative randomness of Diablo until finally the great games of the season come up.
So you agree that Dark Souls and Watch Dogd should only be played by reviewers after the public launch as well? That those reviews couldn't have been made?
PR BS. A disclaimer is enough. Reviewers made a mailing list on Dark Souls to exchange info about it, in a game where the MP is much more relevant than in Destiny.
Big deal that you see randoms shooting around. As soon as you enter a "dungeon" area, you are separated from them. I am level 20...
I care more for 60 fps than 1080p. I'm pretty satisfied with what the PS4 has brought this far.
That said, above both fps and resolution I put game mechanics and features. Soon current gen games will get heavier and devs will again struggle to keep 30 fps.
I hope at least this standard they reach this time.
I have all of these and only used the links provided here on N4G. Might have been an update on those articles.
Regarding AC3: Absurdly overhyped, took a while to the PR hypnosis to fade away, dumbed down for ultra casualization (as D3 vanilla), incredible story advertised, which turned out to be actually quite boring, only boring characters everywhere, distinct lack of creativity etc.
In the end, they're just good games. Not 0.1 above it.

About Brink, as in AC, or Destiny, or Homefront, there's no problem at all at loving these games. I'...
And Brink, and Homefront, and Destiny's twin sister Assassin's Creed 3.
Overhyping, removing content to sell as DLC, over aggressive marketing etc etc are here since last gen.
Destiny just took the BS to a new level.
The game is good. Just good.
I can't believe I clicked...
Not new at all. Same list than three days ago.
SLOWER than 14's?
I've been seeing Fifa get worse year after year. How can they have got SO bad at making it?
Ok, put on the "would buy" remake list: Fifa 12 or Fifa South Africa.
Won't pay a cent for 15 if it's true. Still gonna download the demo.
Marketing over substance is nothing new.
Releasing a game with lesser content to improve DLC sales is nothing new.
Overhyping is nothing new.
Destiny just took it to a whole new level. It broke sales records, so yes, other companies will follow and we're more effed than we were yesterday.
All power to stupid gamers!!!
The idiots are the people who said "11/10!!!" from marketing itself, before playing it.
The discussion was about quality, not sales.
On the sales department it is very obvious that they're doing very well.
On the content department, though... Well, it seems like sales are all they thought about. Rivers of DLC ate needed to put some meat into this cow.
Define "worse".
Now... Can people please finally wake up about their PR schemes?
CoDwhatevernumber. A smaller deal each year.
The endgame is the same thing you played through the campaign and PVP.
I put it in one sentence too and I think it is a fair one. Key words for Destiny are repetition and DLc, and they surely are delivering it.
There's almost nothing random; the end game specific stuff, guess what, is the same PVE missions from before, with modifiers to dmg/health and that's all; the "open" "world" is full of nothing. It will be quite hard to keep...
