The article says that Last Remnant was an exclusive? It was planned as multiplatforma nd the Sony version was cancelled after the 360 version bombed.

2ndly FF XI is on the 360 so claiming that FF XIV would break a precedent that would change Live forever isn't quite true.

People are stupid and myopic. They assume that because THEY are bored with something that EVERYONE ELSE must be bored with it too. Then they post a lame unsupported useless essay about their extreme misunderstanding of the reality of the video game business on Bitmob and from there it gets put on N4G and meanwhile FPS games continue to sell as much or more than they always have. Then somebody else writes the same ignorant twaddle again and the cycle continues.

Yep. But that's how the fanboy game is played these days.

No one cares what a failure to a "yamzilla" is though. You're you. Some faceless annoying internet dweeb who doesn't even make sense. You don't matter enough to go around setting definitions and standards for other people. Your vainglorious bleating is just pitiful and irrelevant. :)

It's because dumb PS3 fanboy goons want Alan Wake to fail and insist that PS3 graphics are way way better than 360 graphics even though they clearly are not.

The hilarious truth that the cell-tards and some 360-dopes just can't face, is that BOTH HD consoles AT THEIR VERY BEST, look about like an outdated gaming PC from about four years ago.

It's really stupid that you say stuff like that.

320x480x2 is NOT a few pixels away from 960x540, Alan Wake's main frame buffer is 960x540 but it does a LOT of post with that, does more lighting than most other games, and best of all, Alan Wake doesn't look ANYTHING like a PS2 game. Anyone who says it does is a freaking brainwashed idiot who probably never even looked at it.

Halo Reach, CoD:Black Ops, Medal of Honor, and Crysis 2 come out in 2010. (This year)

KZ3, Rage, Brink, Gears of War 3, and Bulletstorm are all in 2011. (Next year)

So relax. Lots of time to play lots of shooter games and enjoy them all.

Halo:Combat Evolved begins with Chief being woke up from suspended animation following the flight of the Pillar of Autumn from the Fall of Reach.

Presumably Reach must end with him going into the sleep chamber, after being picked up from his Cole Protocol mission aboard the Reach Station Gamma, Bay9/UNSC Circumference by the Pillar of Autumn, finding out about the glassing of Reach with no other Spartan survivors known, reporting James-??? as MIA, and turning the mortally wou...

Master Chief IS a Spartan Mk2. Spartan 2's were all chosen for genetic characteristics and kidnapped at a very young age. The Spartan 2 program was based on Reach. A second class of Spartan 2's was supposed to be in the works...somewhere.

Most of Nobel team(excepting Jorge-052) are Spartan Mk3's who have better than normal equipment including Mjolnir Mk V armor. (Most Spartan 3's are issued SPI, or Semi-powered infiltration armor which changes color to help t...

Because I am awaiting for my $20 credit for buying Metroid: Other M to come through. That way I can get Halo: reach for $40 with free two day shipping thanks to Amazon's Free year of Amazon Prime for students deal AND get $20 to put towards Fallout 3:New Vegas.

More people bought ODST than bought MGS4. :)

Yeah but that story isn't quite as sexy.

Personally, I'm waiting to preorder Halo: reach until I get my $20 credit from Amazon from buying Metroid:Other M. That will be in early august (I think). Then I'm going to use the $20 credit from Halo:Reach to get Fallout:New Vegas.

The heat of such a device might be rather considerable.

They could call it the iBallMELTER.

You'd probably have to wear cooking mits and a thermal insulator on your lap...

The (obviously external) battery ought to be a lot of fun too. Possibly PC-Case sized?

" This has *nothing* to do with unique art and style.

The similarities come from graphic texture and detail and how they show up in the final product. The best way I can describe it is "shiny fakeness". "

I guess that God of war 3 had plenty of "shiny fakeness" then for a non U3 engine game.

Whatevs.

U3 engine games DON'T all look alike.

Mirror's Edge, Shadow Complex, Borderlands, Bioshock, Last Remnant, Lost Odyssey, Gears of War 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dark Void, Damnation, Hail to the Chimp, and Mass Effect 2 are ALL wildly different looking U3 engine games.

Yeah and game developers who are lobbying for a free share of used game revenues without assuming any of the risks of the used game market via the threat of sabotaged games with perishable features, or going 100% digital (good luck when neither movies or music have managed this in 10 + years), are a GREAT source of unbiased information on this topic, AMIRITE?

It's like asking tort lawyers if tort reform is a good idea.

They can either buy and sell used games themselves and thus gain the revenue from used sales, or they can buy some Gamestop stock and earn a share of Gamestop's profits that way. But just demanding money and trying to invent sabotage systems to make games worth less used is kind of stupid as it will make new games worth less too and consumers will grow more prone to wait for price drops due to low sales numbers.

5846d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Why would anybody care about your screwed up personal definitions? Buying used is not piracy. Putting "For me" in front of it won't make it true or relevant to other people. The developers(really, the publishers) already got paid or it wouldn't be a used copy. Once a game is sold once there is no restriction on other people enjoying the game without the developer getting paid additional money. Nor should there be. Developers might LIKE some of that revenue but that doesn'...

If game developers and publishers honestly cannot compete with the used game market then they deserve to go out of business to be replaced by new developers who CAN compete with the used market. The problem is that the used market is far more cost effective than the new game market. Or to put it another way, producing and selling new games is far less cost effective. That doesn't mean that the used market is cheating or that they owe the new market anything. They bought their stock and in...
