hmmm. I'm sure why you're confused? The slim gave ps3 a huge boost in sales year over year since it's release. This trend continued world wide and enabled ps3 to close the game considerably. As withe the release of any new console there is a sales spike. PS3 had a huge sales spike with the slim released and has been able to sustain momentum world wide since then. The easily explains the gap reduction. If you plug in the numbers provided on the site listed you'll see for yourse...
It's close but ps3 has a blurry look to the entire scene in most of those and the 360 appears to have much more detailed textures. EA will probably have it improved before release but at this stage 360 has the edge. Just my opinion based on the screenshots provided.
I have to say that this article is major flamebait.
Well this is going to be a great racer. But but the ps3 release is going to have a hard time competing with GT5. Sure it's a different type of game but PS3 fans have been excitedly waiting for gt5 for years now. Not to mention that GT5 is really shaping up to be a technical marvel.
I have to disagree. The ps3 didn't start outselling 360 until 2009. Here is a link to the data. http://www.vgchartz.com/hw_...
The slim gave the ps3 the boost it needed starting in 2009 and that carried through to 2010. I'll be curious how the rest goes now that microsoft has released the new revised 360.
LOL. I felt the effects today when I simply made an observation about including 3d in games made the development take longer. Man talk about trolling, attacking, disagrees!!! I was shocked and extremely disappointed. The site needs to be monitored more closely by neutral staff.
I'm sure this will be a very exciting game. I hope that the developers are able to get the same performance and graphical features across both consoles. This being a UE3 game we'll have to wait and see.
I'm really curious about this game. Passing from one developer to another doesn't always bode well for a intellectual property. We may well be see a foreshadowing of things to come with Halo and 343 studios.
this isn't a surprise. It's the new thing and will dominate LIVE for a while, at least until the next cod releases.
Microsoft isn't going to admit that they made a mistake. I too feel that if they'd included hddvd drives in the 360 the format war would still be raging and may have gone differntly, as 360 has a larger install base than ps3 (disagrees won't change the numbers). I confident that there will be a different solution in the next microsoft console be it blu ray or some proprietary format developed in house.
I didn't realize that simply making a business observation and then posting my opinion..noun by the way LOL..would cause such a stir. Hey if waiting longer for games to include an option that you'll probably never use is ok with you then so be it. LOL.
Wow I never knew that there was such an aggressive tendency on this site toward anyone that said ANYTHING disagreeing with what Sony was doing no matter how arbitrary and/or minor it was. I thought that this was a site where we ...
I'm fully aware that the 3d is op·tion·al, as you pointed out. Being a free lance journalist I'm also fully aware that it's an adjective. But putting 3d into games stretches development time and adds cost. At the present time 3d equipment is very expensive. The bulk of Sony's demographic (people they're trying to sell too..hope that helps you) doesn't currently own 3d sets and glasses and will therefore have to purchase them. Of this group the majority proba...
Reach has an edge here. Killzone is just too brown and grey.
Microsoft owns the franchise 'Halo' so I'm not surprised. It's like Activision and Call of Duty. It's going to make them money from now to eternity.
I'm sure that the ps3 isnt doomed LOL. However the delays do tend to frustrate gamers, myself included. I feel that the inclusion of things like 3d and move are making the development time of these games take longer. For instance, would Killzone3 have released this holiday season (which would have been great for Sony) if 3d weren't an option?
This game is really funny. It's a great example of how to do a downloadable game.
This is a great value. Getting mine right now.
Let's hope this UE3 game will run equally well on ps3 and 360.
This game looks very close to the Fallout 3 previous release. I am a little disappointed that the engine hasn't received any major updates since the last game.
Graphically it's starting to show it's age. But I'm sure the story will be great, the world will be huge, and there will be plenty to do.
Sony pushing 3d when 3d tv's and active shutter glasses are so expensive just doesn't make sense. Sure it's very innovative but most average gamers probably won't or can't afford to make the move to 3d right now.
If ps3 can sustain it's momentum that it started gathering in 2009 http://www.vgchartz.com/hw_... then it will without a doubt catch up to 360 and eventually overtake microsoft's console. But we're yet to see what kind of momentum the new 360 model has provided to microsoft. This is going to be an interesting holiday season.
