this should be a great game. Now that this developer is multi platform I wonder if they'll try and capitalize on the huge 360 install base and make this or a very similar game, that's multi-console?
this kind of release just in time for haloween.
I agree that ps3 is a great blu ray player.
The dashboard needed a refresh. It's been a while. Unlike Sony Microsoft doesn't update that often. It's about time for a change.
In my opinion if multi-console release games are important to you with the occassional exclusive thrown in and a very robust online..then yes you should buy one. However, if exclusive games and blu-ray are the most important to you then you need to purchase a ps3.
PS3 developers saying things like, "if we can get it running at a good framerate on ps3 then it'll be fine on 360" tells me that they consider ps3 the least common factor in the equation. It's like getting a voltswagon (ps3) to run a drag race in 14 sec. Well if you get that voltswagon to run it in 14 sec then we know the corvettte(360) will surely be able to do the same with little to no extra effort from the mechanic.
Well said Anton. I see that you immediately got blasted with disagrees and may in fact loose bubbles for that statement but that doesn't make it any less true. Historicaly multi-console releases don't perform well on ps3 with one or two exceptions. Here is a developer with ps3 experience admitting that getting things to happen quickly is difficult on ps3. At some point we need to stop pointing fingers at the developers and start pointing a pointing them at sony.
the last batman game relied too much on the detective vision mode, in my opinion. You ended up playing much of the game in that mode and less enjoying the great lighting, shadows, textures, etc.
This being the third edition of Resistance, it should really push the ps3 hard. I can't wait to see what the developers are able to pull off.
Well I don't know about GOTY but I just preordered mine for 360. The demo was great and I was immediately hooked with the great graphics, smooth framerate, and the story seemed very intriguing.
Well I think that the clear differences that we're seeing here in these two games is due to the fact that the ps3 verstion may be using QAA and the reduced specular maps are probably due to the ps3's memory architecture which usually makes it difficult to render this kinda of texture, alpha, and the like. Still looks great on ps3 and most people that own a ps3 will never be playing it side by side with the 360 version.
Unfortunately ANY comment that puts ps3 at a disadvantage, be it true or not...and your statement about dragon age was right on the money, i still have it for ps3....will pile up the disagrees(even if they haven't played it themselves).
I'm sure Treyarch will do a great job. Activision wouldn't have given it to them if they didn't think that Treyarch couldn't pull it off.
I'm not sure what the visual changes line actually means? Historically the UE3 games have not performed well on ps3. However, this is a very talented group of people working on this game. I am confient that they'll be able to get the sony fan base a good rendition of this great game.
Enslaved is looking pretty impressive. I'm not sure about the struggling part? I've also played both the ps3 and 360 demos and have to say that they both play equally well with realling impressive graphics during cinematics and gameplay.
I would've figured this wouldn't be a problem this late in the game. I mean ps3 is 4 years old??? I'm beginning to wonder if developers are totally to blame here.
hmmm are you saying the only way to get bubbles on here CernaML is to say something positive about ps3?
Yes I'm aware of that. The link that I provided clearly displays YEARLY totals for console sales. Not monthly. http://www.vgchartz.com/hw_...
Yearly data not monthly data.
The ps3 does a great job with this game. The developers are to be given credit as well. No tearing. That's quite an sccomplishment. Historically this has been an issue on PS3 with multi-console releases. It appears that this developer has gotten it right. Good job.
Wow that's quite a blast there.
I have to agree with the person doing the head to head on lens of truth.
That there is still this great of a difference in quality on multi-console releases is beginning to make me question the arguments that I see on here regarding the developers. Believe it or not developers want their games to be the best they CAN be on ANY given platform. Developers also are not LAZY. They work 60-70 hrs per week doing very intricate ...
