And I honestly don't understand how people can call 3DS under-resourced when Revelations and Monster Hunter 4 give a pretty clear indicator that it is obviously more than capable of doing amazing things.

Exactly, they've announced the WII 2 (U) over a year before release, and all devs are working on ports, or original games, for the Wii U launch next year.

I don't think Nintendo's going to take this lying down. They helped create the mass market for gaming, they damn well better make sure they try and keep it.

In some respects you're right, but why don't you believe the Vita hasn't just priced itself out of the market again, like the PSP? We have an identical situation now that the 3DS Console is so cheap, and further more, the IPhone has given adult gamers a new alternative product to chose from.
If Revelations is really going to cost $50 on 3DS (todays news), why on earth wouldn't most Vita games cost as much?
