IPad's sell better than competitors and guess what? They're less powerful, have less features, no flash.
"The Vita's price shouldn't put people off"
PS3 all over again.
I dk, i think Japan seems relatively convinced by the 4 million sales right now.

Sure, they're still nervous, but in terms of rolling confidence, it should work out well in the next 12 months.
Mario 3D Land is the best 3D Mario game ever made imo.
It will sell 3DS Consoles for a long time.
Im not saying WR wasn't on Gamecube, im saying the N64 version deserves more credibility since it was originally created for that system.
Sounds like people are scared of change as usual.
The Xbox wouldn't have existed without it. Believe it or not, it wasn't just price that did it.
If you look at people who know about game sales, and their relationship to phone sales (for eg. Nintendo), its pretty obvious that they see the markets differently.
One market expects, and doesn't want, anything other than cheap short games with little content.
The other market wants to pay for more content, and play games on a controller device that actually works for SSF4 and things like that.
The 2 best selling 3rd Party games are SSF4 and Monster Hunter 3G.
Sure sounds like casuals here....
And what did the CD Format do for videogames during that generation?
Full motion video and larger storage with better sound. For game play itself it did nothing.
Wave Race was on N64 dude.
Different generations have different perspectives.
But realistically N64 > GC, because the N64 introduced and established some of the greatest innovations in 3D Gaming control ever, and popularized certain genres in mainstream gaming. This was all BEFORE the PS2 copied analogue sticks, force feedback, etc.
Logical and reasonable suggestion

2 WII U things i thought of.
Announcement of online infrastructure for WII U. Yes, they should make this an important/necessary commitment, this is one way they can do it.
Also, new Pikmin Wii U teaser.
Detailing WII U before CES also jumps the gun on MS, if they're really going to show off their new machine there.
4 of the top 5 games are 3DS games
and there isn't a single comment about it.
Nintendomination
Heres a basic summary of my train rides yesterday.
Lunchtime into the city - One 3DS player and 2 DS players. Some people on mobiles (dk if playing games) and an Ipad user reading the news.
Leaving city at 5pm - No 3DS or DS players. Some people playing games on phones. The two i noticed? Sudoku and Solitaire.
Meanwhile EA dropped ALL their game prices to 99 cents on the Apple IStore this week.
Business SURE is booming for...
Thats up in the air for the moment.
Trending on Amazon (only one source, i know) suggests Vita is trailing 2 color models of the 3DS.
Game sales are in a complete different galaxy too.
OMG, those 2 comments by mhsdol & stevej pretty much sums it all up.
Why the hell don't Forbes start hiring actual industry experts to comment on these issues?
not Pachter, please
I lol @ the potential of the mountains of spam Forbes is going to receive for this opinion piece
Because it was the end of that weeks sales.
MH3G launch week BEAT the 3DS Launch week.
http://andriasang.com/comzc...
Those 3DS launch sales were clearly underwhelming, but it was March, few games, yada yada!!
@radphil,
That was 3 weeks after MH3G launched. The point is that in the height of the Christmas Shopping Period most people bought the 3DS, not the hot system, the Vita.
Someone apparently tweeted that last week (up to 25th) Vita only sold as many consoles as PS3 and Wii did in the same week. This is Vita's first FULL week, and thats a pretty notable concern. Game sales are another issue all together.
