Starcraft 2 HotS and Sim City aren't really comparable. Especially considering that one (Starcraft 2 HotS) was completely playable the moment it launched and the other (Sim City) was basically unplayable for the entire week it was first released. Not to mention the fact that the only thing they really have in common is the fact that they are PC exclusives, one is a city simulator while the other is a science fiction real time strategy game...
I would say a lot of the alpha's popularity can be attributed to Day-Z. I never would have looked at Arma 3 twice before playing Day-Z and now every time I see it on Steam I think about buying it.
Probably the only time I have ever agreed with Tom Chick.
I don't know if I'm able to delete this entry, (I just tried and didn't immediately see how to and then quickly gave up)
Piss! Sorry, I even looked prior to posting too. Apparently I didn't look hard enough.
Oh is it? Sorry for the misinformation, due to it's size I had assumed it was non-upgrade-able in the same way a lot of laptops are.
I'm all for Valve entering the console space because I love Steam and I love Valve as a company. They're part of a very short list of developers who can make any game and I will buy it day one. That being said, $999 for a non-upgradable pc that just plugs in to my television seems very pricey. I already have my desktop hooked up to my television so it also seems unnecessary...but that price tag is the real killer. I had always assumed they would price the "Steam Box" as ...
I didn't really pay any attention to this game until the reviews starting coming out a week before it's release. The game sounded good and I picked it up...and shockingly enough, (in my opinion) it's the best game I've played so far this year. You can cry about linearity and cinematic sequences but I'm still enjoying the hell out of video games. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Uncharted franchise and Tomb Raider seems to be in that same vein of games, there aren't a t...
Its a tab bit annoying, I even added the whole "in my opinion part" ....to which 5 people disagreed with me...for saying "in my opinion it is the best game to be released this year". How can you say my opinion is wrong. Whatevs.

Okay, "In my opinion" it is the best game to be released so far this year.
This game deserves every purchase it gets, easily the best game to be released so far this year.
I've noticed this all over today as well, who in their right mind condemns a consumer for receiving a product that is unusable while giving praise to a company that is absolutely refusing to help out it's consumers. Seems absolutely insane to me.
If you go check the forum thread apparently after the screen cap made it's way around the internet EA eventually did refund the guy. Which says to me that they weren't going to do shit about it until gaming news outlets started talking about it. Keep it classy EA.
This entire article is an assumption based on speculation. There's absolutely no way to know if one will be better than the other. We have watched about 5 minutes of gameplay from Watch Dogs and zero gameplay from GTA V, not to mention the fact that no one has actually played either game. I'll reserve judgment until I play both.
I get the feelings the closest this girl has come to video games is when she takes photos with them.
Do people REALLY care about this? Honestly? I couldn't possibly tell you the last time I used a CD to listen to music, I cant even tell you the last time I put a CD in to my PC or any of my consoles. People getting mad about this are looking for something to be mad about, go take a midol.
This isn't the first time EGM has had a ridiculously high score for a game that was being reviewed rather poorly... I'm talking about Rage, EGM was given the right to release their review before other publications and oh look at that it was also a 9 if I remember correctly, AND the review was far higher than most other reviews. EGM was amazing when I was a kid, it's now a husk of the wonderful magazine I used to receive in the mail as a child.
They should be, if you were to even try and compare Dragon Age 2 and The Witcher 2? There's an obvious victor there, both in game design and story telling. Anyone in the RPG fantasy genre should be intimidated by the company that is CDProjekt Red, lets be honest.
What!? Tom Chick has given a game that's universally liked a very low score!? I'm shocked.
