What do you mean "complicated"? The PS4 is using a fairly standard CPU in the AMD x86 (it's basically a PC CPU) a GPU very similar to an ATI Radeon 7850 and DDR5 ram. All this while Microsoft is using a custom Microsoft branded CPU, what is very old DDR3 ram and a GPU that we don't really know much about. I would definitely say that in this instance the PS4 is using much more common hardware than the Xbox One. The hardware is more common...and has better performance.
I think my biggest "problem" with this game is the fact that the first reveal of it as "Overstrike" gave the game such personality and something to really look forward to. And then the change to a more serious game and removal of the previous personality that Insomniac had injected in to what seems to be a run of the mill third person shooter. I like these guys and think they make great games, but their talent really shows through in the personality of the games and less...
E3 will only lose importance if the gaming industry stops making the BIG announcements at the conference. I still take time off from work every year just to watch E3 because I know something big will get announced at at least one of the conferences. It's probably the biggest news week for video games of the entire year, I'm pretty sure E3 is going to be alright.
I think it's perfectly okay to review something that isn't finished it the maker of the product is charging money for it, simple as that.
I can't say this enough, and I'm sure I've said it more than a handful of times just on N4G comment sections...but as a 27 year old gamer that has played games since I can remember, after playing Persona 4 on the PS2 is became my favorite game of all time overtaking Final Fantasy VII (cliche I know). But the characters are some of the best in the business and the story always kept you wanting to know just what exactly was going to happen next. I should probably go start this gam...
I think it's less the fact the consoles are lacking it and more of the fact that it was a GIANT mistake. You either had people who couldn't get the gear they wanted without spending money...or you had the farmers and bots raking in cash. It really broke the game and the fact that they're admitting it is at least a step in the right direction.
OR Path of Exile, if you want that dark Diablo 2 popping potions feel. Oh, and Path of Exile has FF10's leveling system (basically the sphere grid) AND as system VERY similar to FF7's materia system. It's a really good game.
With all the stupid April Fools' jokes today, I really wish this was one of them.
I thought this article was serious until actually reading it. It's obviously satire and sarcasm, but the title would lead a person to believe that an actual argument were being made. Anyway, as soon as I read "BioShock 2 is universally believed to be the better of the past two games" it became fairly obvious this was a decent attempt at humor.
Hey look at that a speculation post that is missing facts! This is N4G all right!
Persona 4 on the PS2 overtook my "favorite" game of all time (FFVII, I know it's cliche but it was my first JRPG)and I'm really happy to see that there are more people playing it.
Why is his opinion even relevant? He hasn't made an above average game since the 90's (depending on your opinion of Alice Madness Returns). His opinion of anything will not sway my opinion one way or another. MAYBE back in the early/mid 90s when he was working at iD Software and developing games like Quake, but now? Who gives a shit. Show the industry that you can made something above the level of mediocrity and I'll care about your opinion, until then? Keep it to yourself. ...
That seems incredibly dangerous, not medically but waking up in the morning and not knowing what you did the night before? Terrifying, blackouts are the worst.
People are absolutely ridiculous, and it seems that a lot of people on the internet are just looking for a reason to get mad and then venting their anger toward anyone that says something they don't like (the irony of writing this on N4G does not escape me). Let's be serious though, if you look at interviews and articles with or about Ken Lavine he seems like a pretty nice guy that is probably smarter than a lot of people in the industry...He CERTAINLY does not seem like the type of ...
If Microsoft do in fact both block used games AND only allow their console to run with an internet connection they would be alienating a very large portion of their audience. If this is indeed true they've already "lost" the next console generation.
While point 1 does seems a bit meaningless the things that are improved such as the framerate and better controls seem like they would cause a slightly higher score than the basically unnecessary ".1".
I honestly can't agree with you more, Arthur Gies has always "rubbed me the wrong way" simply due to his necessity to push his opinions on everyone else. He may be the reviews editor at Polygon but his reviews are also the only write ups that I refuse to read, everyone else on that site is fantastic. And Geoff Keighley? Do we REALLY need to bring up the Halo 4, Doritos, and Mountain Dew fiasco? Probably not. Adam Sessler I've always had respect for, even if he did work ...
This post could have been titles "Tomorrow the Sun Will Rise", we all knew it was going to happen.
This website gave a phone game based on the wizard of oz a perfect score yet Starcraft 2 gets a 2/5? Whatever you say... http://n4g.com/news/1208504...
"With even more restrictions!". There, you forgot the end to that statement.
