Movies are probably super important, because they have pretty much no big timed/console exclusive games to play all year. It all makes sense. A game releasing is like a special occasion. Microsoft probably has some sort of data about how much Xbox owners love movies , it's the only way they would be ballsy enough to always have an annual 10 month drought and do what they did when they revealed the X1 along side the Price Is Right and Star Trek.
Thanks for the response gamer1138. I guess where I differ in opinion is I think these are changes do to the position Xbox was put in early, more than just Phil Spencer. I think anyone put in the position would have done the same.
Also, if anything has helped the Xbox One move units, its the constant price reductions and incentives more than any move Phil Spencer has made.
The same reason the 360 did, it came out a year earlier and was less expensive. The PS4 has a 20 Million + lead and a year head start, this matters.
(A comment I made earlier today, which is probably more relevant here.)
They are launching a year later, more expensive, more horsepower and trying to convince people to wait. Even as far as hyping a media format, the other doesn't have.

What are these right choices? Just curious.
Thank you!
"But your ps4 pro will be obsolete in just 1 years time..."
This is so reminiscent of the PS3 coming up a year later, it's not even funny. There is one big difference though, Xbox isn't PlayStation and doesn't have the pull worldwide to mount any sort of relevant comeback.
How is this interesting? This is stupid.
Does playing a PC game on Ultra change the gameplay? No, it changes the resolution and FX.
"For the past few weeks I haven't even turned on my PS4. There's nothing I want to play. Nothing. Indies are more shallow than the Triple A games, but that at least is excusable."
It's no one's fault but your own irresponsible financial decisions that lead you to buying a console you don't use. So don't suggest to people how to spend their money, when you obviously have issues with that yourself.
Do these jokes come with a gift card?
Never forget.

This was PlayStation's biggest mistake in their long history and Microsoft is about to repeat it.
Make no mistake though, PS3 was only able to catch up because of the strength of the brand worldwide and cranking out lots of exclusive software consistently, something Xbox doesn't s...
I would argue the Xbox One and Scorpio are more pointless since all of the games are available to play on PC. You could literally build an equivalent to Scorpio that plays all the games tomorrow.
Thats because Sean Murray is a liar, I'll never buy anything from HG ever again.

I know right, the PlayStation Pro is number #1 on Amazon US, UK, CA and pretty much everywhere else.
Also, just curious but is Amazon matching Microsoft's Xbox One S deal.

The gift cards and games have already been unleashed, keeping up the Xbox One tradition.
No, they don't care about features. They care about price, games and what their friends have.
I believe you, but that was a different time. There are a million ways people get their content in the world of today. I have multiple PlayStation's, a 360, multiple tablets and multiple phones.
The answer to the majority is no, they same goes for backwards compatibility.
The PS3 had backwards compatibility and I barely used it (only for Persona 3), I have never put a movie disc in my PS4.
They are nice additions, but people buy new consoles for new games, not old games and movies.
These are features people on forums act like are big deal, but the reality is the mass market cares about 3 things. Which are playing with their ...
Sure Microsoft has some nice titles this holiday, but it's pointless when they get drowned out by Call Of Duty, BF and other beyond huge AAA titles that take up all the attention.
I think Sony not releasing lots of titles around Call Of Duty, Battlefield and during that season in general is the smartest thing they have ever done for promoting their software, they get their own time to shine.
Horizon for example being a new IP could get lost in the shu...
$399 is the first thing the mass market will identify with, not a lack of watching movies.
It probably had a tight budget, especially if they wanted to maintain the price tag.
