"With the rise of games like Overwatch, Minecraft, and even Halo 5, it's the Games as a Service (GaaS) concept that is now dominating the industry. Where in-game purchases drive a steady stream of updates, keeping players hooked for inordinate amounts of time."

This is where MS is heading and trying to slowly convince people to want this route, people have been saying this on forums and got sneered at. But it is completely true.

While explaining the delay he says, while looking at their line-up they strategically gave it time to breath.

"we want to give them enough time and resources to do that,"

and in less than a year stopped development.

I change the link to one that has the actual statement from Greenburg. The first link just referenced the story and didn't give proper links, that's why I changed it.

He claims it was delayed because it needed "time to breathe" because there were too many games.

They mention this in the video, which I completely forgot about.

Wow. Looking at their line-up they strategically gave it time to breath to become great.

The competition is currently going on. Does it look like they are slacking?

Competition doesn't mean even.

Suckerpunch and From Software will both be a E3 with a PS4 game to show. Anything else is gravy.

Most of PlayStation's internal developers are extremely talented. Naughty Dog is just so ahead of everyone else (in the industry) on so many levels that the others sometimes don't get the credit they deserve.

Studio Japan makes great games that are meant to serve the PlayStation's core audience.

Gravity Rush 2 for example, isn't going to light up the charts, won't be over produced, over shipped and will barely get marketed by Sony. But...

Don't be surprised if that tweet gets deleted, since it didn't quite work out as planned.

The Last Guardian is one of the best stories ever told in gaming like SOTC was. Both say almost nothing and have a page or two of text/speech and get the point across beautifully.

There are a lot of great games out there that do things better than it, but I will (literally) never forget my time with The Last Guardian and that says something.

But... Have you SEEN Titanfall?!?!?

I'm glad all of you enjoyed them. The contrast between the different markets is quite shocking.

Yes it will.

The rest of what Shinobi wrote is way more damning, in my opinion.

He doesn't think 3rd parties want to deal with Xbox anymore, hasn't heard of any big secrets they have or new emerging studios, thinks Phil Spencer has done the opposite of what was expected of him and doesn't have much hope in their future.
