Meant to be played doesnt necessarily mean you are going to run into problems with AMD cards , it just means there is higher probability of it running better on a nVIDIA card which in turn means more sales for nVIDIA , remember Doom3 alone increased the sales of 6800 ULTRA .. Meant to be played campaign is at least one of the reasons you got your eyes on the 570 :P
Arma 3
Planetside 2
Crysis 3
Metro Last Light
--------- All are nVIDIA :Meant To Be Played titles, except Crysis 3 all use PhysX ...... AMD is up for a bumpy ride :S
When Epic first showed their Unreal Engine 3.0 , nothing could run it properly and people were skeptic if a 6800ULTRA SLI will be able to run it well.
The first Unreal Engine 3.0 PC game got released at the transition period of 7800GTX and 800Ultra.
But now ... it runs fine on a current gen single card !!!
I guess this aint a good sign. :-S :-S
Just wait nd see Metro Last Light. BOth of them will be released in Q1 2013 :-) along with 780GTX
Previously they demoed Unreal Engine 4.0 using Kepler.
Unreal Engine 4.0 supports nVIDIA PhysX from the start.
I bet it is running on nVIDIA Keplers :D
Ppl will need GPU power in Q1 2013 ... Crysis 3, Metro LL , Arma 3 ... but then again you will have 780GTX at that time ... Lets see if the demand rises with MaxPayne 3 / Planetside 2 / War of Roses ...
Best link of the day thnx John2
Yeah 4096X4096 is the magic number ..... which means 16 times larger textures .... than 1024 by 1024 .... 16 times ... thats what I said :-)
Metro 2033 released a few years back already featured 4 times higher resolution textures. 4 times means 2 times in width and 2 times in length , say the console texture is 1024X1024, then the PC one is 2048X2048. Yeah i appreciate their effort but given 4A did it with the 480GTX in the market , they could have done something like 8X or 16X but still its nice :-)
If he did , this would not have been a nice teaser/short movie.
It says video has been removed :-( cudnt see it
Ubi-Sucks
Waiting for some info on Metro LL on 24th :D :D :D
I have seen some people writing comments like , only the rich care about graphics .... and upgrading.
If a game is released with very good graphics , it will have lower settings too so one with weaker hardware can play it too , it is generally the case .
If the developer does not push the graphics u get to play it at a certain quality , if he does push graphics u still get to play it at that or better quality, its just that someone with better hardware will...
Last Light is filled with lights , raytraced ones :D :D
OptiX , PhysX , Tessellation , Bindless Textures , 3D Vision
nVIDIA tech on Steroids !!!
oh btw Im a nVIDIA fanboy from GeForce 256 :D
Yeah 32 bit does need to die ... and PC gamers/devs will kill it.
Cool this implies the game will use >> 2GB ram at its minimum settings. I guess the textures will be uber cool.
If this gets going , nd nVIDIA does not skimp in upgrading their GPU clusters ..... I guess it will be like the 90s when no developer could retain the graphics / tech crown for more than a year ... or probably 6 months perhaps :-)
Even few years back .... Far Cry came out wowed everybody ... then few months later Doom 3 to surpass it ... then F.E.A.R ... then Elder Scrolls ..... nd then oh the pathetic new consoles came out ... the progress slowed down and..... then the world...
Look at the link i provided . And when I mentioned the 4A engine , I referred to the updated one by which Metro LL is being built ... the original was good too ... in many ways.

Oh boy .... I cannot afford a 8 way SLI PC but im not selfish enough to not pray for such a technological feat :D
