Crytek and its likes should learn multiplatform development from this team !!!!
The 4A engine has been providing decent graphics for consoles as well as PCs. At first I thought they developed PC first and ported the game to the console in case of Metro 2033 but wow later when I read about the 4A engine I was amazed to know that I was wrong.
People ignore the fact, he does not deny that it is possible making The Witness work on consoles , he says that too much work is needed for that and as an indie developer his point is valid.
But I appreciate his way of making games , the environment , music and puzzles are too cool.
I firmly believe now that this game is gonna surpass BF3 graphics in every way.
Apart from destruction though, which precisely does not fall under graphics.
Crytek has lost its mind !!!
I love this game called Braid, I just hope more developers think like Jonathan Blow.
lol thank u .... im not frm an english speaking country :-)
the link to the translation is too big to be supported in the news submission form.
A 1 month delayed PC game in change for a shitty port; Anyday
If wht u say were true , NVIDIA would not have sold a single card since the launch of 8800 Ultra , same goes for ATI. Guess they are bankrupt now !!!!
I don't get it , devs say developing games for PCs ain't profitable .... BF3 has got 1.5M copies pre ordered . They say developing multiplatform games compromises graphics quality, BF3 console versions look better than most console exclusives and I dont need to comment about the PC version.
Nice way of hiding their own sloth. Why they just dont say it .... they do not have enough talent or energy to take advantage of the PCs ?????
4A , developers of Metro 2033 and Last Light do not have enough finances as far as I know at least not near anything like those developers of COD who have been recycling the ages old Quake 3 engine
You talk as if better textures and better frame rate do not matter. Part of wht you said is true geometry and lighting is not pushed by developers as much as it can be but still there is Metro 2033 , Crysis 2 , Witcher 2 --- games which did push in every way.
Oh I forgot BF3 uses completely different lighting systems for consoles and PC ..... the next gen consoles must be in the market by October according to your statement right ????
"When that happens...
PCs are 10 times powerful when you do not consider SLI or hardware accelerated tessellation ..... if u include these, PCs are 40 times powerful ..... but alas Devs don hav balls to do these ... hopefully we will see lots of tessellation used intelligently in BF3 beta or retail .... in Alpha it aint noticable ... wht looks like tessellation is nicely done normal mapping but tessellation is suppose to make things much nicer than that .... Metro Last Light anyone ???
Fouuuuur Minuuuuutes ZOMG !!!!!
@ Console gamers who disagreed .... theres no fuckin console exclusive game that comes close to its lighting , particle effects and animation
@Pc gamers who disagreed ..... this video shows better animation than crysis 1 , better particle effects ..jst look at the fire ....
The title misses the last part of the line " Even if we recycle the game again and again with the ages old Quake 3 engine "
I dont get it ... they make so much money ... wht is the problem with jst getting an improved engine .... doesnt hav to be frostbite 2 ... they jst can use CE3 or Unreal engine 3
No they never confirmed character model tessellation ... but the producer did say "tessellation is so sexy " which kind of implies they have used it nicely ..... well views may differ. Moreover metro 2033 and deus ex already use character model tessellation and we surely can expect it from a game that is pushing boundaries in so many directions .....
PC Gamers can never be satisfied .... and thats wht drives innovation :-)
Executive producer Dean Sharpe :
Our lead programmer never ceases to amaze me. He’s just continuing to push the envelope, and I remember he came back from GDC this year and he was like, “Damn it!”
So I said, “Woah, woah, what’s going on?” and he’s like, “The other programmers. They keep doing new stuff, so I guess I’m going to have to go and make my stuff better.”
