If Carmack had 30fps target rather than 60fps they could have blown UC3 away for sure.

Oh my my my ... this game got the best graphics ive seen so far, it looks better than Crysis 1 PC version , Metro: 2033 and even the screens from Metro Last Light. It even looks better than Toy Story 1

If i am a fanboy then I am a PC fanboy, but if i were to compare , maybe the cell got more floating point power but the xbox allows developer to use more RAM and then again you have that tessellator in the Xbox that has not been used yet; I would like to see what Crytek can do if they use it in Ryse. PS3 got blue ray may be thats why it was more expensive but if you compare the ability to render, you cannot be sure.

But as far as I have seen UC3 looks better than GOW3.

To render Toy Story 1 in real time at 25 frames per second we need 7.14 tera flops of power , only an overclocked quad sli can do that , to render Cars in real time we would need nearly 3000 times more power than that and add one or two zeroes for Avatar .... so reality is far off :-)

4 cars with 4 character models and the terrain say

1+1+2 = 4 million poly per frame

The foliage seems to be rendered in 3d too ... i guess no use of sprites , and probably tessellated leaves (which may not be the case)

Hell Toy Story 1 had 5-7 millions !!! But I guess the frames of scenes in the road had sth like this value who knows but we r sooo close.

Extremely high poly models are reduced to lesser polygon models but the normals of the original polygons are preserved so that they can be used for light calculation or shading. So if those GT5 or Froza4 models contained more poly it must have been in the original models b4 the reduction. Look into the pics they say it all.

The other point is these cars are tessellated, their polygon count increase if u zoom in .... look at the interiors up close :-)

Normally well implemented 3d cuts the frame rate by nearly half , so you are suppose to need a Quad SLI system to run it in 3d in 1920X1080 at ultra at around 60fps.

And i dont own such a rig. But it would be nice for all those 3dmark champs !!!
