No, but has a game ever been in development and hyped for this long only to receive mediocre scores? I'm sure there has but not too many. Besides Duke Nukem Forever. This is one of the most hyped games in history. So obviously this game is getting special treatment.

He basically says the game didn't live up to the hype. It's not the next evolution in racing games we were promised for the last 6 years. We got our hopes up for nothing. It's just another typical GT racing game and if that's good enough for you. You'll be happy. Those that were expecting something spectacular and revolutionary. You'll feel let down.
The first thing I'd do with the VGA's is ban Tony Hawk, Shawn White and the Jackass gang from attending. They make the VGA's look bad among other things.

I don't think Motion Control has legs. I do think it's good at first impressions. It's that curious gimmick everyone must try, but once the wow factor and cheap gimmicks wear off. You get developers who don't know how to implement it into popular games and you end up with a lot of clones. Mini-Sports games. Pet games. Workout games. Dance Games. The public is gonna get tired and go back to standard controls.
