I never owned an N64. So I didn't play Mario64 till years later. TR was the only third person exploration type game in existence for me at that time. So I was blown away.

PC's best days are behind it. The truth is that PC games don't offer as much as they used too. Back in the day PC was the king of multiplayer and hires games. Halo came along and changed everything. Today the console is the king of multiplayer games.
It used to be standard def TV's vs CRT monitors. Now we have HDTVs, not to mention consoles with HDDs. The only area PC is still thriving is in MMOs and RTS, but who knows how long that will last. Steam is doing well,...

How is Heavy Rain GOTY? The story was pretty good I'll give you that. The controls didn't exactly reinvent the wheel. They had done that in their previous game. The voice acting on some of the characters was pretty terrible.
I want RDR to win all the GOTY awards, but I can understand Mass Effect 2 getting GOTY. So either two of those games works for me.

I agree there should be an MMO category, but how many really good MMO's come out a year? Not too many. The problem with MMO's is they have a very long lifespan. Some of these MMO's have been around for 12 years and some will go on for who knows how long. It's not like WOW will get a sequel for example. I guess they could nominate things like DLC for long time established MMO's. Yeah the independent MMO's too.

I don't question his directing skills. He's a fine director. I question how he's using the popularity of a game franchise to launch this idea about a family of treasure hunters. He doesn't care in the least about being true to the source material. He just wants a big blockbuster hit and he's using big name actors and the success of a Video Game to get it. It's so insulting!
