Pirating continues to thrive because there is safety in numbers on the Internet. If 100 million or more people are pirating every day. No one stands out. If 3 people were stealing. They'd stand out. So they wouldn't steal.
I never understood why the movie industry can spend hundreds of millions of dollars and years making a movie and then sell it on bluray for just 19.99 with 10 hours of content. Then the game industry does the same and a game cost 59.99. All games should be 19.99!
Gears 4 seems to be in the vein of The Force Awakens in that now it's the young generation taking the mantel from the old guys. It'll be interesting to see if any characters from past Gears games appear and look older.
Tomb Raider is one of the most influential games of the last 20 years, but sadly it gets no respect. It's overshadowed by Mario 64 and Lara Croft for being dismissed as a sex symbol.
Tomb Raider inspired third person exploration games in a big way. Games like POP Sands of Time, God of War, Uncharted owe a lot to the original Tomb Raider. Lara was pulling levers, pushing blocks, climbing, using guns, solving room size puzzles in third person 3D long before all these games....
I have a GTX 960 4gb. I'm sure I can run it on the same settings really well.

They'll be halfassed games like the way they had special versions of triple A games designed just for motion control. VR is a gimmick so far.
In the future people will have empty rooms. 4 white walls surrounding. Put on Hololens and it adds the setting like the holodeck and the room becomes the game. It allows for much more freedom than VR.
Their fair prices are still high for the average adult. They have families to support, bills, financial troubles. Not everyone is willing to just drop 600 dollars on what's basically an entertainment device.
HoloLens has more potential.
I know people who can barely buy one console. I know people who have two consoles. It doesn't come cheap for them. They save every penny to get games. So the idea that they're gonna spend 400 to 600 on an accessory that has no guarantee of success? I find it very difficult to believe that VR will do well. They have a might big uphill in front of them.
While the technology is more interesting. It just feels like a repeat of that familiar path motion control took us on. Expect this is a lot more expensive.
Most are tech demos disguised as full retail games that are actually designed around showing you what VR can do. Games with simple story lines and no passion behind them. It's more like, oooh like what VR can do. Do you like it?
The Xbox One can release any game that exist right now and so can the PS4. If they were allowed to. The differences between consoles are not night and day. So what's your point?
I don't have this issue because I own both consoles like a real gamer that wants to play everything. I'm too old for console wars. I'm not 10 years old anymore. Been there done that.
What we always want. Graphics and gameplay that are taken to the next level. Something that blows our minds and makes last gen look old and outdated.
I played the alpha a while back. I couldn't post footage. The alpha puts your gamertag all over the screen. So they can track you. I'm not really aloud to talk about the game in detail. I'll just say it was interesting how you have to relearn the controls for this sort of game. As for the Battlefront comparison. At no time was I reminded of that game during my play sessions.
Visually Forza 6 looks typical. It doesn't look like they're trying to take it to the next level. That's one of it's weakest flaws. It reminds me of last gen. It seems lazy on their part. On the technical side in terms of how well the game plays and how much there is to do in the game. They succeed, but I wanted so much more from the visuals. I expected to be floored. Sure graphics aren't everything, but at this point in the game when I've played every racing game ever...
Gotta hand it to these guys. This isn't just another racing game. Besides having the best graphics ever done in the history of racing games. They're supporting the game to the max! Thanks for all your hard work guys!
