They are not hurting slim sales with Scorpio, it's a completely different demographic. It's high end/low end both aimed at a different consumer. Oculus support and such. If you don't want VR then a dirt cheap slim is your answer.

Keeping up with the cost of technology. They just recently announced that they finally hit profits on the PS4. It would be ignorant not to spend that on new technologies and stay ahead. If they can create a neo for the same price they created a ps4 3 years ago then they will obviously take it. Technology moves too fast for an 6-7 year life cycle. I think we will see more of the enhanced systems in place of the "slims" mid life cycle. Xbox will do both because why not lol.
