Obsolete? Your ps4 won't be obsolete.
"the console market is about to take a dive with this upgraded console nonsense.let me tell you why.for every 1 person that syas they like ot or ant wait there are 10 who hate it.it costs a lot to mass produce consoles and when only a few buy ps4 neo and it only sells a few million it will be a failure.sales matter as sony fans like to say."
-It's not going to cost a lot. Costs are actually going down because they are able to miniaturize a lot of the parts.

Being a playstation owner, I was really curious when the n64 came out. A friend of mine, who never touched the ps1 got an n64 for Christmas. I went over to check it out. I still remember him being awed and saying, "Man! There's so much speech in this game!"
Huh? Nintendo games sold like gangbusters on the Wii. That wasn't the problem. The problem was people weren't buying 3rd party games on the system.
I wouldn't say I don't love Nintendo games, they're always great fun. But, I don't buy Nintendo consoles anymore because the games I love to play aren't on their consoles.
The Wii U failed because of a number of reasons. But, paramount, was losing the massive casual audience that the Wii was able to hook.
How would one rip them?
So, "if" this is an upgraded Xbox One...
(Oprah's voice): You get 1080p and 60 fps! You get 1080p and 60 fps! You get 1080p and 60 fps! You get 1080p and 60 fps! Everybody gets 1080p and 60 fps!!!
I'm dreading the ps4 Neo vs ps4 Smith fights.
The only way this negatively affects consumers, in my opinion, is little Jimmy hoping he gets a Neo for his birthday and his grandma accidentally buys him the base model.
e3 hype traaaaaaaaaaain!!!
"This is just a cash grab and if you ask me pros and cons aside I think it has more potential to damage Sony than help it, I'm not talking about the customer aspect but rather from a financial aspect."
(Ser Davos voice): Now, I'm not a learn-ed man, but companies don't usually ok things that damage them financially.
@jwill: They will not raise the price of games because of testing for the Neo. That is something arbitrary that doesn't make sense. So, if the ps5 were ever released, would games go back to $60 or stay at $70? Why not raise it to $80 since they would need to test games on the ps5?
It doesn't make sense.
As for my comment, they raised the prices for those games because of extra things that were stuffed in the cart (fx chips, ram, etc) and it wasn&...
But, it's not "splitting" them. Both iterations get the same game, with all the same modes. No differences. The only difference is fps and graphical fidelity. Like going from a mid-tier to a slightly higher PC.
I guess you weren't around when SNES/Genesis games would sometimes sell for $100.
How is it splitting the user base?
I've gotten used to the console argument or the PC vs console argument. My worst fear is the Neo vs Base infighting that could flare up.
I could never get past that stupid cube boss. But, I absolutely loved this game back in the day.
I know. Such a silly question.
You gotta type it with the accent. People might not get the Godfather reference.
The Last Guardian? I think this game will unfairly be held to high expectations. But, I'm happy that something that was considered vaporware, at one point, is actually getting a release.
