Bf3 was one of those "coming in hot" games. It had it's share of bugs and glitches, but it was still a very fun game for the Bf community.

Sony: Hey, Bungie. Take a look at this multiplayer game and tell us what you think.

Bungie: Not good enough. Needs more work.

Sony: Ok. Gotchu.

Bungie: Now this! (Slaps Marathon on table) This is fire!

Give it a go. It's a lot of fun.

@IRetrouk: Yes, because there is a difference. In regards to Bethesda, they said they "had no incentive" which is just a fancy way of saying "Yeeeeeah, well...not now" but with Activision, they've used concrete words like "commitment" and have put in writing with Nintendo and Nvidia.

I'm just saying, in regards to Bethesda, they never "promised". Even the EU said so. But, in regards to Activision and CoD, they have.

No. That was when the FTC claimed that MS made promises to the EU and broke them, and then the EU came back and stated that it wasn't the case.

Direct quote from EU regulator: "Microsoft didn't make any commitments to EU regulators not to release Xbox-exclusive content following its takeover of ZeniMax Media."

CoD isn’t the driving force for this deal. Mobile is.

@RauLeCreuset: Revenue.

More games into GamePass, like CoD, equals more subscribers, which means more revenue.

King and mobile, which was the main driving force behind this acquisition, makes more money for Activision than consoles and pc combined. That is an extremely lucrative revenue stream.

Revenue.

While most use this as console war fodder, I find it interesting to see real numbers in how much platform holders are willing to pay for content for their services.

@LucasRuinedChildhood: They've already put it in writing that they're keeping it on PS.

"But they only offered several years after the deal expires!"

Look at when Playstation got the CoD marketing rights? How long was that deal? 5 years from what I've read (2015 - 2020). Sony reupped and, by all accounts, the deal ends in 2024 or 2025. MS has promised to keep the game on PS several years after. You can't promise something into p...

So...what if the FTC passes the deal? Are they corrupt? What if the EU green lights it? Are they corrupt, too? And the UK and CMA? If they say yes...is everyone corrupt?!?

To me, it's all just posturing.

@Eonjay: it's not leaving PS.

Nope. You’re generalizing and using false equivalencies. When they tried to double the price of Xbox Live, people spoke up. If they had kept it, the numbers would have plummeted.

What is true for your imaginary wife and others is not true for the vast majority. If they raise the prices, and I and others don’t see the value, we’ll unsubscribe.

Either that or everyone will go on the $1 deal, which is another generalization the CADE document has debunked.

2.9 billion of them, to be exact. (Eye roll)

They aren’t “telling” us. This is from the CADE report.

Fear mongering and whataboutisms. If they raise the price to the point people don’t see value in it, they’ll unsubscribe. It’s not that hard.
