The PS3 does render cars at the level of detail as the ferrari 457 italia and if theres a vid to prove it, it's this one from GT5:P, just look at the extrodinary amount of detail in that headlight, it's simply photo realistic.

Seems Forza 3 uses seperate car models for different stages in the game (showroom, rolling up to the start line and ingame), its pretty shocking.

Maybe they mean foilage such as leaves, as you drive through, they get swept to the side, or actual dirt being thrown around the track during rally stages or maybe something weather related.

Well I don't know how you missed this game out but Alan Wake runs on a proprietary 360 engine and has been in development for 4-5 years to boot and after scrapping the PC version (apparently) and building it ground up for the 360. This game also happened to be present at E3, yet no recognition were given for its graphics, like the other 360 games, even though I feel it looked good, but not much better than the multiplats you mentioned.

Both fanboys will see what they want to see, however the E3 critic awards say Uncharted 2 takes the prize for best graphics over the games you've mentioned... so whatever it's all subjective.
I posted those links as i believe the only way to convince you of anything is for you to see first hand with your own 2 eyes and that i was confident in my argument, so what better way to prove my point, that cars can be photorealistic in games, than to post a link doing just that, comparing game to reality, which proved my point quite nicely as you didn't bother to refute, and also a quote from your post above,
