While I agree VGChartz has their "history" I believe in this case the pre-order numbers they are pooling is something that can be documented/tracked...no? Thus making this article one of the times they can possibly be taken seriously compared to their "random" calling stores and "out of thin air" estimations based on those numbers.

But don't quote me on that until it's confirmed...lol

Yeah I mean where's the "issue"?

It's not like the 360 launched with any probl.... er.... um.... that the FCC should be aware of right at the last second before being sold to the public.

Yeah, No, Sorry M$. Some other people are stupid enough to fall for that multiple times...I am not one of them.

Edit: For those who would like to know more about that kind of business model read up on planned obsolescence

Read speed is a BS excuse as speed didn't mean anything since the throughput was more than sufficient on the PS3. Plus CAV vs CLV for the PS3's BD vs the 360's DVD when tested was a wash, so in real world application it wasn't actually slower or faster than the other that was "noticeable". It's just a point for those who don't technically understand the difference between the two to say 12x is "faster" than 2x when they don't account for read r...

Exactly Dragon, Darrius Cole & stevehyphen. Another way to explain it would be to say the XB1 + Cloud is analogous to the comment made in the article about physically separated RAM & VRAM pools "it's still too much latency for a CPU, GPU, CPU roundtrip"...so the XB1 is the CPU (or RAM) and the Cloud is the GPU (or VRAM) and the time it takes to send -> compute -> receive the data between them is latency. But that should be basic understanding of how this works for ...

@ NegativeCreepWA said "They over tripled their fanbase this gen"

First off Source Proof Link specifically citing FANBASE please....oh that's right you can't because what you are saying is FALSE. All Microsoft did was SELL almost triple over their previous console.

Yet when you look at Xbox LIVE! subscriptions it shows Gold accounts are @ +/-25 Million vs +/-80 Million consoles sold...and you know why that is? RROD repurchases, replacements ...

Uhh ohiostatesman then how do you explain PlayTV being on PS3 basically doing this before XB1? http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Does that now mean you are saying MS copied Sony? Also I don't see many people in this news going crazy saying they "love" this. If anything I see more people saying things along the lines of "cool optional feature if I might need it"

Easy, you are talking about multiplatform titles and since there is NOTHING ELSE on the 360 available there isn't much CHOICE for dedicated 360 owners to buy...thus why they sell a little better. There are more choices for PS3 owners, thus slightly less sales of multiplatform titles.

But that is common sense, for most rational people to contemplate and understand. What I always ponder is why are there only +/-25 million LIVE! subscribers yet +/-80 million 360's "...

1. Both have 8-core x86-64 CPUs & similar GPUs, although PS4's is faster/better.
2. Both have 8GB of RAM, although PS4's is faster/better.
3. Both have improved controllers, although PS4's is rechargeable and can recharge with the console off.

mewhy32 raises the exact same point I believe except that if they did release a Kinect-less SKU then all the support, r&d, plus the most important MONEY they shoveled into it goes out the window that they won't be able to recoup.

And that last part is where it gets really dicey for MS with investors and the status of the division already being on thin ice with said investors (not that the division is doing horribly just not up to their expectations).

This has all been tested before. Anyone who makes their own Arcade Controllers from PS3/360 controllers (like myself) are familiar with Cthulhu boards, Axisdapter etc and the maker "Toodles" (over at the Shoryuken Forums)....anyway, long story short he has tested both and there is no discernible difference between wired and wireless to begin with.

Thus a "20% reduction" is actually nothing in all honesty as their input lag was of no concern to begin with....

"Only in the USA is such nonsense touted and accepted" ~ Sorry but that's not true I know MANY people here in the US who would adamantly disagree with that statement.

I completely agree the fact is the PS4 is by FAR the better system but what I believe it boils down to is blind "fans" and misinformed media outlets (or ones with a specific agenda) that do what they do for hits. And ALL of those are WORLDWIDE.

Actually the PS4 also supports DirectX features (and others as well) thus it's more flexible for devs and in general ~

"Sony is building its CPU on what it's calling an extended DirectX 11.1+ feature set, including extra debugging support that is not available on PC platforms. This system will also give developers more direct access to the shader pipeline than they had on the PS3 or through DirectX itself. "This is access you're not used to getting on th...
