Just sharing a reasoned viewpoint in offering the literal decades of lived experience in one of my primary hobbies/loves. I do not see M$ going away, and I do feel having them being "competition" keeps all parties in check....but they're not much of a competitor by the mathematical numbers (applies to M$ not Nin). Kinda like the old/first NBA Players on the Olympic Team being put up against others back then.

I loved my OG modded original Xbox...but that really was it.
The 360 was an absolute $#@! show back then. I personally had 3 or 4 failures and I was particularly screwed because back then Micro$oft (as we used to call them) had launched the 350 with iirc a 90 day manufacturer warranty and mine failed LITERALLY a few days past the warranty period from launch when no one really knew WTF RROD/Red Ring of Death was and M$ refused to fix it. I was justifiably incensed after that...
Been gaming a loooong time (since the 70's as an adolescent).
In the early days of the interwebs (for me this was '01//02), I was recruited to be Moderator for a Tech & Gaming site that had Millions of hits per month back then. I wrote MANY tutorials talked about the Scene (even the gray areas of Modding/Chips etc.) and especially where things were at & where I felt they were going...I am still a Mod there but the traffic died down during the introduction of...
I get it. I have always had motion sickness problems (depending on type/style of game). I really had issues with it playing CS 1.5/1.6 back in the 90's but powered through and conditioned myself for it to be a non-issue after a while...only for my CRT to break in '07 and the LCD's at the time couldn't equal the performance for the competitive nature I required. To this day it breaks my heart looking back at all the fun I had and missed out on since.
Love Astro Bot and all of the awards are absolutely well deserved! If you have the ability to play the original on PS4/PSVR1 then imho it tops the new one because of the immersion. Been gaming for 40+ years and it truly resonated deeply with the experience it accomplished. Wish they would have done this new one with the option to play with PSVR2. I could only imagine how amazing it could have been...

I have finally, after literal YEARS of being extremely critical of game streaming (used to be a part of a major Gaming site over the past 20+ years while being an "OG" Oldschool Game...
Been gaming for 45+ years and never liked speed run play types. I can do them...just don't feel the need to deal with the frustration. Some is fine, but other times it gets beyond annoying. Still my favorite game in a long time ~ just wish it would have had some VR2 support.
It wasn't easy to keep most everything. Between things getting stolen, my parents being gypsies moving a lot & being a broke young guy who was tempted to sell things to fund new Gen stuff I am lucky I managed to hold onto what I have.
I have been gaming since the 70's.Still have 90% of EVERY console & game I had growing up....been in the game a long time per se. I don't mind digital being an option ~ but If physical media is truly ever completely removed, then that is probably when I will remove myself from what I have loved for so much of my life.
Pretty crazy to be able to say I played on that as a very young child; it really is quite amazing to look back having lived through it from so early on but still continually enjoy in its growth to this day.

You sound like me circa the 360 days here on N4G and other other places like NeoGaf & Afterdawn! LoL

Don't know what you're talking about ~ just got PS+ Essential for my cousin @ $64 and upgraded my plan to Premium for 30% off!

I love the game ~ but I don't care for speed runs. That's okay though, glad it's getting additional support after launch!

As an old gamer myself I have to say it feels good to still be right about all of MS's BS...

Damn I'm old...
