I'll have to check into those, thanks!
I was disappointed I missed out on Amazon's sale with two free games on Black Friday, but got another Black Friday deal from Gamestop that wasn't sold out yet. Yeah, demand is high, atleast for Amazon.
The story is seriously anemic as hell. I'm less than 10 hours in at chapter 14, near endgame and have only gotten a glimpse of story. They should kept Stella with the rivalry thing going which would have added a bit more lore and a few more chapters without changing too much. She just would have sided with Ravus and the Empire for part of the game.
Brotherhood FFXV should have been part of the game as well, and they could really had afforded to make cutscenes longer ...
I'd rather a new Drakengard. Platinum should just rip the systems from Scalebound, remove the douchey MC and dubstep and do a new Drakengard game.
Well after playing FFXV and it's anemic content(seriously less than 10 hours in and at chapter 14... near endgame already and feel like I got mere glimpses of a story along the way), I'm ALL for FFVIIR being a 4-disc game. If it isn't, we'll be getting story cut(and not minimally, severely), not added.
If FFVIIR's first installment is next year, I reckon it only goes until the end of Midgar, and we'd be looking at a 4-5 disc game. Nevertheless, if it's true, I'm picking it up.
Holy shit, I'm at chapter 14 and less than 10 hours in.
What exactly is delusional about critiquing the game's sidequests as fetchquests either? Your bias is showing.
It'd make sense that the screen could be 720p and play in 720p mode when on the run, 1080p when docked on the big screen.
Faster, smaller and easier to use than USB 3.0. You can plug in the USB cable upside down for instance.
It'll be the new standard for computers and phones in a few years.
The main thing it needs is Mini-HDMI so you can connect it to a friend's TV easily. Obviously, Ninty must have forgotten that. They think people are really going to play multi on a 6 inch screen at a friend's house.
I'm all for ARPG as long as it uses a system with magic menus similar to the KH-system. FFXV was anemic in that respect, but FFVIIR will still have tons of magic, now with pages for shortcuts to use them all. This will keep alot of strategy from the original but allow us to fight in real-time. Best of both worlds.
I agree with this. If the game wasn't episodic we'd be missing out on alot of content. Not only that, but we'd have to wait until 2019-2020 to play the game. The episodic release allows the game to be released with more content, as it's made. The way I see it is I am paying to play as it develops. If they don't want to play that way, they can always wait until it's fully released in ~2020 and maybe get a discount. That's all fine and dandy, but we're payi...

It's not about a need, it's about demand. If people can finally get a true 4K HDR console, they're going to buy it. PS also needs to one-up Scorpio, so they'll do it when it's possible. Consider 2018-2019 is 6-7 years after PS4. They're going to upgrade, especially when Zen+ gives them enough price-performance to make it worthwhile.
I mean, consider Scorpio is on full 14nm. Zen+ will be on 7 or 10 nm so they'll be able to get m...
Doubt it. The next time we get a die shrink it'll be PS5 in 2018-2019 with AMD Zen+ at 7nm.
I think it would make sense that FFVIIR would fit on two discs, but they'll separate it into 3 discs anyway.
The reasoning is because it's longer than FFXV, and they're adding more content. Secondly I like the idea of episodic because it means I'll be playing this game with more content, and more importantly, before 2020. You get what you pay for IMO. You can either pay to play the game early, or you can wait and save.
I'm playing i...
I think it should be episodic actually. If it's not, we'll get parts of the game cut out, rather than expanded. All those extra sectors in Midgar for instance, you won't get to explore unless the game is episodic. And we wouldn't get the game until 2019-2020, with anemic content. It would suck.
@Edmix CyberConnect2 is only helping. It's Square Enix Business Division 1 who's making the game. It's got members from the Dissidia team and is working closely with the KH teams to build FFVIIR.

All those teams, and I can only imagine Business Division 2 members are getting moved to Business Division 1 now that FFXV is complete. ...
Huge Fate/stay night fan. I hope we get a good console game, one day based on matches between servants and mages... Kind of like a full 3D Soul Calibur with assists maybe.
It's definitely a harder chapter. But I don't think it's too bad, especially considering how much harder 14 can be.
