As a gamer that would be great.
But for Sony it would be pointless.
They want you to have a PS3 and a PS2.
Will be both, however it will be a firesale of old models.
New SKU is coming (obviously), suppose to be a bare bones PS3. 40 gigs with no wi-fi and no games.
Certain Dealers are going to give the new SKU model with 50$ PSN cards to offer the incentive of buying the " new"PS3 at their out let. Target is doing this currently. Walmart/bestbuy *might* follow.
Personally, I hope they cut the prices on the controllers sometime in the future and do a fire...
Everquest is coming to the PS3. :-O
I took your bait.
Reason : Xbox Live is more like a User Interface. Home is like a mini-game. I also disagreed with your comment, flattened your tires, and punched your dog in the face.
FYI Home development $$$$ should of been added to the Socom: Confrontation Budget. Thats the truth.
Lariot see post above from me.
You got owned.
Happened to me.
I have had RROD, YLOD, and gonorrhea.
;)
System would turn on .... and after about 30 secs it would show signs of freezing, slow down and finally turn off and the power light would start blinking.
I was able to do this all the time and actually never got the so called yellow light. It would just shut down and blink red.
Sent it to Sony, Still waiting...
<YLOD(?) of me 1 week ago, and *SHOCK* I was playing a PS2 game trying to go online.>
$149 USD Later.. . . . . . . TLC for PC rig....
1 - add your cable fee + usage for the game VS renting the game + console. Streaming the games won't be cheap.
2 - "2. 5Mbps? LOL! pathetic, again, thank god i'm not living in Africa "
You must be wealthy or live in a country with great fiber optic connections. Good for you. You all must get breast fed as well, and have a man servant who flushes the toilet for you.
3 - Microsoft won't sue, but you sure as hell won't find the halo franchise on ther...
Panthers, Gamers put gamestop in business. Not paying 55.99, for a used game. (
$^$#^$#^$ BS, why buy used when 5 dollars more will buy you new version?)
Motion controls.
That is if this service works, which it won't.
Great concept, too early.
Unless everyone has t3 connection. I was NOT at GDC, but I see the conference via internet and will tell you its all smoke and mirrors.
There will be lag with the service and no way in hell will it be as fast as they say unless of coarse your right next to the server.
Reason #11
Will gamers pay a 3-4 dollars to rent the experience?
What if they like the game so much they want to "keep" it. So in theory
would he have to pay for the service (bundled) or usage (daily/weekly/per hour?)
Reason #12
Fighting games online will not work.
Reason #13
The service will take a substantial hit for multiplayer games. Imagine the game having to stream to your house, to the server, to anothe...
LMAO @ free.
Videos on demand, will meant games on demand.
And technically, Games on demand has been around for a little while but wasn't streamed. All the Vegas hotel rooms have it. You can play mario 64 in your hotel room.
You guys do realize that it wasn't a a Online presentation at GDC..
It was a OnLive marketing pitch for investors. The bait is on the hook, so gullible publishers might bite.
Unfortunately the bait has chlamydia and will kill you in 5 years.
I had sega channel as well.
Sega channel worked like this, using the plug-in play attachment, the game would be downloaded to the RAM on the attachment.
Since most games were small back then, it wasn't too hard. Now games are multiple gigs, so in theory it could work again. Granted people had patience or t3 connections.
All of the characters blew except Balthier.
Vaan was a cross between a girl and a boy who tried so hard to be masculent while wearing a vest taylored from West Hollywood. He was a twink.
The Other lead character was pointless. Her limit was cool, but she wasn't interesting. Who cares about her empire?
The bad guy, was horrible and having a connection to his little sister is silly. Wait it wasn't a little sister it was a boy! The "Cat Chick" ...
He divided by zero.
Chozen
Let alone only a few have a absolute stable connection to run the service at 720p.
Online can manipulate motion controls either, just button presses. If anything, the next gen console will all have some kind of motion controller ( from the looks of it). There is no way a system can interpret motion controls, via streaming from 1000 miles away.
I feel bad for the initial investors whom give money to the company. They are going to loose big time. Great...
Its not a game announcement.
