SRU how did killzone fail?
It already made its return on investment with over 1 million copies sold worldwide.
The development for just making the game was 22 million (USD). Wait, they also made a engine which SCE plans on licensing to other developers so there will be further profit in the future.
The only thing the game failed on, was reaching Halo 3 sales numbers. No one expected it too because A) the first game sucked and B) little advertising.
Soda,
He reviewed and liked timeshift.
'Nuff said.
"ITS INCREeeeeDIiiiiBbbbLlllEeee.&q uot;
"The cover system works well, the action is intense, and the fact that you can choose what you want to say in certain parts of the game helps add to the fun, because you can really be yourself in all types of situations in the mob life."
Wow, he tries so hard too write a sophisticated summary but fails. I can't imagine how bad the actual article is.
LESS COMMAS, USE PERIODS. Three commas in one sentence? Wow, if it was just a forum post, comment or anything else...
Hmm.
Lets do the math:
1,000,000 (copies) times 40$ USD (pro-rated "under" MSRP US market)
40 million.
before licensing fee and cost of production. (15 million off)
25 million.
(Tax ~ Not including shipping) X < 5 million (?)
20 million
Development cost(includes Overhead), Personal wages lets be nice and say "10 million" for a game that takes about 7 months to comple...

Midway was perhaps one of the better 3rd party developers.
Unfortunately, Midway let Ed Boon ruin Mortal Kombat and let EA get NFL license exclusively. Those were Midway's cash cows and hurt the company serverly. The only saving grace was Epic and Unreal Tournament.
Midway shouldn't die and wishing that a company goes bankrupt and people lose their jobs is just wrong. If they do go away I do hope some studio buys thier Gr...
I agree. Exclusives are good for the industry and can build hype for a studio if the game is polished and fun to play.
I think every third part developer should have 1 game represented as thier best offering so that the developers have competition among themselves.
Developers should make their prize product platform exclusive to show the developer community at "what they can do, can you do better"?
Benchmarks need to be set. Still need a RPG, Puzzle, and fighting genre benchmark.
i agree, that multiplat game announcement is weak but thaT E3 WILL be remembered for that.
I thought mag was the best thing out of it.
gotta disagree,
E3 2008 was Microsoft despite Sony showing MAG, fat princess, etc.
FF13 multiplatform was the talk of the town, (for stupid reasons too)
Nokia and the Ngage.
Exactly. Even though GDC is for game developers, not the consumers.
:Not to mention having HHG as a victim looses most of your creditability:
Well said. Bubbles. Torrence, you know that guy got his "popularity" and his information for his weekly show off the sources on N4g. Like most blogs do.
What morganfall is trying to say is:
"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"
If wasn't for N4g, sites like Destructoid, Ripten, and even hiphopflamer wouldn't get that many hits.
Sites shouldn't cry over this. If they don't like it, make another meta-search-gameing-news engine then.
<Mod's I know your laughing your #%#@%#@ off. Some people are ingrateful huh?>
Orcarina was better in my opinion and was the game I bought a N64 for.
Majora's mask was alright but I just hated being kid link the whole game.
still is going to be 24 player max on consoles. If you dig real massive online battles you might wanna keep a eye out on Zippers' MAG. Suppose to be 256 players with modern weapons.
I am still hestitant, this could be the PC build.
Remember its using the Farcry2 engine, which looks great but I have feeling this game is going to disapoint.
I loved the orginal flashpoint on the PC though, one of the best sniping games I have ever played. The map editor was ahead of its time too with out intricate you can make the missions.
Bingo.
NEW SKU model will be cheaper to manufacture. Firesale.
