Your damage control is weak, I don't even think there's a gesture for ejecting the disk only a voice command. As for scratching you head being picked up I don't think it will be very hard to stop yourself doing that while your in the middle of doing a gesture.
Will be more than that in the end, all these preoders are from hardcore gamers who already have a 360, so once the causals hear about it and MS starts advertising it could come to 8:1.
Yeah but it will give them poor software sales which will cause publishers to abandon the PS3 like the PSP.
So don't try and spin this as a good thing, if this hack can't be patched it could spell the end of the PS3. Especially if the USB starts going for cheap.

All I will say is Kinect is getting the same reaction the Wii did, and look what happened there.....
I'm sure this has been said before.
And there were leaked documents showing Windows 8 having Kinect like features so I can definitely see it being used in other places other than just games.
Who knows maybe its Sony buying all of them to stop them.
I would say people should wait it out since it could be patched soon and like brazilianbumpincher said, its only a matter of time before the code it released on the net and you can use your own USB.
But what I don't get is how these hackers will manage to mass produce them, its not like they have their own factory and if they did Sony could easily shut it down.
The reasons I see it succeeding are positive press from main stream media, its different from the Wii, huge marketing campaign, great value bundle, 3rd party support (publishers willing to make full games exclusive to Kinect) and Dance Central.

Same thing was said about the Wii, look what happened there.

And everyone who has played Kinect says its fun, maybe not 1:1, but fun. And that whats makes a videogame sell fun and enjoyment, hence the reason the Wii was such a hit.
We will know soon enough when Sony attempts to block it. If the hackers are able to counterattack successfully then thats when the problems begin.

And there are also a lot of reviews, including from a respected mod shop that it works. I'm not interested in the details of how it works, just about wether it works or not. I'm not gonna lie if its as easy as ordering a USB online to be shipped to my door its going to be very appealing and not just to me...

I've played it and it works, this video wasn't even about Kinect breaking but the console.
Not really, anyone who really wanted to play L4D or even ME would likely of already done so, so the impact of losing them is small.
The only bad thing is the fact that L4D 3 and ME3 won't be exclusive. But it's only fair Sony gets some good games after the 360 took literally every third franchise it had in the PS2 era.

Very interesting but I wonder where they actually plan to go with it.
The video is also a very good demonstration that Kinect works while sitting down.
But does Move have any games which can only be played with Move and NOT a standard controller too? Thats an even more important question.
