Very good post and likewise with the 1st comment.
Like you said, it use to be that Single-player was the priority and the reason people bought games and the multiplayer was something to do once you finished it, just a feature really. Nowadays it has nearly reversed. A lot of gamers buy a game for multiplayer and the single-player is the feature.
Perfect examples of this is most modern shooters, especially the COD series. I feel with COD, since the multiplayer has gott...
I agree.
I dont use it that much, only when i actually agree with a comment (obvious, i know) but it has to be valid and not repetitive stuff, i.e lets say in an Uncharted 3 article, i'm not going to agree with every guy who says "This game is gonna be awesome LOL!!!".
I dont care about it on my own comments unless it goes overboard, because lets face it, there's guys who's gonna disagree with you regardless what you say.
I was just going to say that. Hate that "thumbs up" crap.
Anyway, i agree, Skyrim is definitely my most anticipated game this year. This is probably the best autumn ever for game releases, so i will have to play them all first, if i dont then Skyrim will kill them, in an allocating gaming time kinda way.
Like, sadly, Oblivion did to many games.
I agree regarding Football Manager, ive been addicted to those games since Championship Manager 00/01, but ive barely played it this year simply because (fans will know what i mean as ridiculous as this sounds) the game makes time go by too fast. You sit down for a quick game and bam! 5 hours have gone by!
Thats one of the best aspects of the game but also one of the worst when you actually want to do other things.
I like what you said about FIFA and if i had to descr...
The list is not bad, but Infamous 2 should definitely be on there right beside LBP2. Fantastic game.
Loved Rapture, especially the atmosphere it created.
My sentiments exactly. Well said.
Im back playing it again and it still blows me away. Its the small things, i.e. a cop chasing a guy down the street, someone pulled over looking at their car engine, the hilarious random things people say walking by, steam coming up from random sewer manholes, people running when it starts to rain and putting up their umbrella's or a newspaper over their head, people taking out their phone and start talking etc...
One of the best ...
Good points.
3 seems to be catching on nowadays and it really annoys me.
I think 6 is a good one and Kojima did that with MGS series whereas the portable games kinda filled in the gap for the console version. For me that worked really well and i loved those games.
Im not against DLC, its a great way to add more game time to a game after a few months when people start to "wear" it out. I am against ridiculous prices for some DLC thats simply not worth...
I think its that kinda nostalgic effect where everything seems better when you were young.
But i definitely know what you mean and get that feeling a lot. For me, i think i get that feeling nowadays because of overhyping, yes, and the internet boom, but mostly because i get the games i look forward to on day one nearly all the time. Whereas when i was younger i would have to wait, save up money and eventually when i do get it i savor every bit of it because it could be a long time be...
I have a Wii but never got PES for it. I thought it would be crap before it was out and was so surprised by the praise and love it got from a lot of PES fans.
Regret not getting it.
"In the end though, EA are targeting the casual audience also with FIFA, unlike Konami who are totally hardcore"
Thats a good point and to be fair FIFA is a solid game for casual players, in my opinion the majority of buyers would be younger gamers or mature gamers who only play it now & again with some friends. (Although of course there is gamers out there who consider it hardcore and play it the whole time).
I noticed it a lot when some of my ...
What would you say makes FIFA 11 a better game than 10?
(genuine question, no smartness intended)
Being playing GTAIV the last few days and man it would be nice if it looked that good. Really does look wonderful.
Kinda pointless article, he disliked the game, so what?
I loved the game, it was brilliant, better than the first one on all aspects except maybe the story, which is why the first one is probably my favorite.
@news4geeks - It actually took me a while before i started to really dislike PES 2008. I was disappointed when i first got it but i actually do remember having fun with it for a while, especially with friends. But ultimately the flaws were too much and i just got fed up with it.
@Nate-Dog - Yeah, that article kinda made me write this. I really wanted to express that there is hope for PES and to remind people that these guys made the best football games not too long ago. Also ...
Brilliant game, finished it being Evil and definitely gonna finish it again being Good.
Improves on InFamous 1 on nearly all levels except, for me, the story in 1 just seemed better and more immersive.
Still, fantastic game, deserved all the acclaim it got.
Just because i called FIFA unrealistic doesnt mean i think PES is. A lot of assumptions being made from my post.
Im not a "fanboy" either, if FIFA was a good football game then i would play it. I simply dont think it was, ever, and i dont think PES has been this generation. I also hate PES fanboys too, they're partly to blame for Konami's slow realization this generation that their game needs a major overhaul. For example, go to wenb, an important site for PES where...
With a misleading title like that i think its obvious how CVG feel about PES.
I dont agree with nate-dog above regarding PES2011 being a fun game, probably the most frustrating PES game ive played yet, you know what they were trying to do with the game, they had the right idea but they just didnt execute it right. PES2011's great moments were overshadowed by the numerous ridiculous flaws that plagued the game.
I really hope they make a great game this year, with FIFA look...
Just finished InFamous 2 so gonna play thru Bioshock 1&2 again to help get me by till Deus Ex hits.
Anyway, played a bit of Darksiders but never got into it, might give it another go. Forgot all about Far Cry 2, great game, very underrated game, still yet to completely finish it, definitely gonna try to do so soon.
Not a bad list.
Like one guy said, if you really want to pass the time, the likes of Fallout 3, Oblivion, RDR and GTAIV will do the job and you...
Agree, i think people have misunderstood his comment:
"Until we get a title that is not GTA V..."
I share this point, i really doubt that the next GTA is gonna be GTAV, it will be titled after its location, like SA and VC.
