Yeah, cant believe i forgot about Bioshock, one of the best gaming experiences ive ever had. Should be in the top 3 for sure.
I agree. Before COD got a bit tiresome as it is now for some of gamers, COD4 felt so fresh and kinda blew everyone away at the time. I never played online or really had any interest until i played COD4, but not only that, the singleplayer was pretty damn good as well.
It definitely deserves to be on the list.
In my opinion GTAIV deserved all the ratings it got and for me its one of the greatest games ever made. Sure, not everyone is going to like it, taste varies, but im still surprised nowadays at the number of gamers who feels its overrated.
Not a bad list at all, im glad Mario Galaxy got on there. Fallout 3 or Oblivion? COD4?
Sorry yeah, i mean Bodycount.
You're right about the scores being skewed. But as far as i know only EDGE use the whole 1-10 scale, other sites don't, so that's why a 5 from most sites really means a poor game and its usually the reviewers intention.
In my opinion scores are useless and misleading and have too much importance associated with them. The whole point of a review is so someone can get the impression of someone who played the game they are looking to buy. Reading a well written revie...
" Aren't review scores just someone's opinion anyways?"
Exactly and how can someones opinion be wrong? You can disagree with it but you cant say its wrong. Whether a game is good or not is not absolute, because its simply a matter of "opinion".
Regarding Brink, it looks like the type of game that would be fun at first but quickly turn into boredom.
I know exactly what you mean, this is me with some games, especially sports games like PES.
If its too easy i put it up a notch, but when its up a notch and making mistakes result in a more unforgiving consequences, thats when small things start to drive me crazy i.e. when your player doesn't do exactly what you want him to do and you end up dying/losing. Thats when things get broken.
I usually finish a game once i start it. But nowadays i find that more difficult. My biggest problem is getting distracted by other games.
Now i have this system where, unless ive no other games to play, i will play two games simultaneously usually a singleplayer game and a multiplayer game. It keeps things fresh.
That all goes out the window when the likes of Skyrim and Deus Ex comes around, those type of games take over your life.
Good article.
A Spud gun.
Similar experiences myself with Driver back in the day, it was such a great game, everyone loved it at the time.
Played the demo for this one, it was ok, i wouldn't buy it but that's because im not into driving games nowadays. But it deserves huge credit for being innovative and bringing something new to a well worn genre.
Yeah, what you said is a bit concerning. But i think, and hope, DICE are intelligent enough to foresee this problem and prevent it.
Its not a bad idea for Recons, it gives the role more significance, but yeah, it definitely needs to be balanced.
This is great news.
First Portal, now Counter-Strike and then the innovative way Dust 514 and Eve will work between the platforms. This is a great step forward for gaming in general and i like the direction its going.
By the way, i expect PC gamers to have a huge advantage over consoles gamers because of the ease and accuracy of using a mouse opposed to an anolog stick. But i dont like this attitude some guys here have that they (PC gamers) will win because they are ...
Actually i was just looking at some gamescom videos of pes gameplay and the crowds, stewards and cameramen around the pitch look amazing this year.
I dont know about it being more realistic. I know PES can get a bit mental at times and the pace of the game is a bit too fast. But the randomness and individuality of teams and players make the matches more realistic opposed to the feeling of "sameness" and repetitiveness i get when playing FIFA.
When i think about it, both games have their unrealistic aspects and one can be just as bad as the other.
But i definitely agree about PES being more fun ...
I dont know, i think because of of the better animations FIFA looks better while playing. But up close it can be a very ugly game, a lot of players have distorted faces and bodies.
PES looks a bit wooden at times but the players likeness is amazing for the most part and the textures of the kits and pitches are very nice.
You would have to agree with him, at least he's honest. I think his point is that he is more concerned about how his games play rather than look.
In my opinion if you placed two TVs playing FIFA and PES side by side, FIFA looks a lot more realistic compared to PES. But personally i definitely enjoy playing PES more than FIFA.
The depth to this game is unbelievable. The variety of approaches this opens up for players is just fantastic.
Jesus i cant wait!!!
Kinda annoyed with this. Considering the maps are going to be massive, getting a headshot is gonna be difficult.
Why not just make it that you need a high damage rifle and magnum ammo against an unarmored body result in a one shot kill, that would probably balance it out better.
Contrary to most people, except for the guys running around with a sniper rifle killing people up close, i think snipers were balanced fine in BFBC2. They seem to be making it more difficult ...
I always try to play and finish the single player of games like Battlefield and COD before i really get stuck into the multiplayer, partly because they're short & sweet and partly because i kinda feel guilty if i dont.
But man, ive never been so eager to get stuck into multiplayer like i am with this game. For once i think the single player/co-op will have to wait a while before i play them.
More on topic, im not worried about this guy's concerns simply b...
MGS4.
Just thought of it. Not my favorite MGS game(That being MGS3) but still one of the best games this generation has produced and should definitely be considered in the top ten.
