I'm starting to think IGN's keyboards have only the numbers 5 and 8 remaining, for some reasons. Since 5.8 is too low, they decided to give every game an 8.5.
That would explain everything.

Actually I think that those "soft shadows" appear less realistic than the sharpened ones in the PS3 version. So, I don't think it's a plus for the 360.
And did you look at the screenshots? The SSAO makes the difference all over the place, while there are just two or three spots where the 360 textures look better.
It's not a "flawless victory", but the PS3 wins in the graphic department IMHO.

In this game, textures look pretty much identical. In the comparison I can see two spots where they look better on 360.

I thought this was a tie when I saw the performances, but I have to agree with LoT. The SSAO makes the PS3 version look a lot better.
And it's all in one disc.
And it has exclusive DLCs.

I'm not a graphic expert or anything, but MAYBE the 360 is just missing "some" shadows, and not every single shadow.
Try to take a screenshots of the same part of the game that LoT took, and make the comparison.
I mean, I trust LoT a lot (lol). I don't think they would come out with bullshots or anything like that.
They've always been really harsh.
Even LBP 1 and 2 got a 7 from them.
Don't forget Rock Band 3.
They've always used to be a little harsh, so it's ok if the score is a little lower than the other sites.
This game is gonna blow.
It's about a year, I think, since IGN started giving 8.5 to random games.
I mean, they gave it even to Rock Band 3, which is the best game in the genre, according to... pretty much everyone else.
I used to love IGN once upon a time, now I think they've gone crazy or something. Ignore them.
(Still, 8.5 is a solid score, don't misunderstand me, I just think they gave 9s to games that didn't deserve them)

This guy is really messed up. I bet he didn't even beat the game, like he did with Sonic Unleashed (I think, he might be another one, don't remember lol).
Well no, it isn't in general. But in the world of gaming, scores are usually higher than in other critics such as cinema and music, so an 8.5 can be translated into a 6.5-7.
Which is not low, anyway, but average. And I think this game is awesome, not average.

Actually Uncharted 2 is one of the easiest platinums out there. God of War isn't difficult too.

Are you sure it does run better? Because GTA and RDR had slightly better framerate and resolution on 360.
