I dont think its competition, just like the other cloud gaming offers. Its just aiming for an expanding, more casual market.

Im not Sony or Ms fan either. Only interested in playstation and this is a clickbait.
I think a lot of people think in term of PlayStation and xbox but dont see the bigger picture.
Its a partnership between Sony and Ms concerning major Sony products in relation to Ms AI for instance, and also not gaming related. They have to say 'explore' because there are so many ramifications that it needs to be a vague mention of where they are going.
I feel even more confident for the future of playstation after ps5. Sony and Ms will be making lots of money together from their future cloud / casual gaming solutions and Sony will still be able to make consoles for more dedicated gamers (ps6 etc). I wouldnt be surprised if Ms dont bother anymore though.
Dont forget the many confirmed rumours of the launch window which led to this confirmed rumour of definitive delay.
