How do you fit the extermination camps in your 'civil rights' allegory?
That's two different angles. Yes it's part of a similar theme but labelling the whole game as a civil rights metaphor seems very reductive dont you think?
Regarding the political example, it's all about context. There can be many political references while the main point is not political.
Edit
I need to point out I live in the UK so I understand f...
The point is the game is not meant to be a metaphor about civil rights. There are many civil rights metaphor in it (and many other metaphors). That doesn't make it the whole point of the game.
It's like saying the game is purely political because there are many political references.
You dont seem to understand what I'm saying.
I'm telling how beautiful the scene is and I dont care about what you think of the writing.
Please dont go on forever Haha
(And yea the, article is supposed to be about emotion)
My first comment.
1 clearly the article exploit the prejudice, criticism, even hate some people have about DC in particular. Here with a headline
'DC doesnt understand human emotion ' seriously? You find...
Good advice: try to see many different outcomes. Even if you can't play it all, at least watch what you miss.
For instance Hank, Connor can go in very different and many interesting directions.
By the way, the best option at that point was singing. Truly a beautifull moment and I dont care how bad you think the writing is for that moment
Edit
That's the point. There are many options and some will seem weaker than others
Are you trying to say you can find debatable things in the story like in every single story be it in video games or movies?
How does that give any arguement regarding my comment?
Who is saying David Cage or ANY OTHER WRITER is the best writer ever ?
So if you want argue my comment, please do with no goal post moving
That's why nobody is interested in his games /s
These journo do understand hate and how to channel it, I give you that.
'Cage creates a poorly written civil rights metaphor '
Also shows they dont understand much else though.
Deluded nationalism seems everywhere these days. Hopefully people come to their sense and realise it's a trick. Gamers have no frontier in their hobby.
People disagree are only in denial. You own a physical copy of the game and thats a fact. You dont even need to log in. With digital you dont own anything.
Plus its way easier to delete games to save space and re install them whenever you want.
Plus if the game sucks you can trade it etc, or play frisbee with your dog.
From the article.
'Source: youtube'?
Exactly that. It just looks fine. Nothing wrong saying it.
They are breathtaking!
Is nobody watching the DF video?
Admittedly some people overreact or say things they don't really mean. I have nothing against Google. I dont care about the company just like I dont care about Amazon but use their services and products.
However Stadia does sound quite bad if you look into it. Just overpriced with poor delivery of weak service to sum it up Haha
Idk. Even if I was interested in streaming games, which I'm not, it's quite limited. You pay a sub and then you got to pay more? Wtf?
I had the same thought. They should recycle ps+ and merge it with psnow. Don't give them ideas of price increase though haha
The article and most of all the title is silly though.
A lot of people only see what they want to see . Theres also the myth that xbox had an 'awful' launch and slowly rebuilt with Spencer blah blah. Xbox actually had a very good launch (despite a bad reveal) and then gradually went down on the contrary.
Hey. Theres nothing wrong with thinking Kotaku is crap and have fun with them. They do use a lot of clickbait and rage bait to push agenda that has nothing to do with gaming so its no surprise they go for any topic .
Im not sure you have the same definition of ideology.
That's how I feel. I understand people say buy everything but if you have a limited budget like most people then it's a waste of money. Either xbox or PlayStation is plenty enough. A lot is multiplat too. Theres not enough time to do everything either.
Edit
To be clear, for me it's a better investment to get psvr2 and all playstation ecosystem than get an xbox that would have a lot of redundant games. Other way round for others doesn't bother me
I'm sorry but oppressed people aren't all part of the civil rights movement in American History.
Including extermination camps in a 'civil rights metaphor' label is just reductive.
Its heavily referenced but it's not just that.
