Microsoft is using everything they can as marketing tools and insecure fans are part of it. It is fair enough. Just a different approach than Sony. That there is no official announcement from Sony doesn't mean it isn't available.

I think they don't want to retire from the hardware. They just want to kill traditional consoles and get a monopoly. PC gaming more like. It has always been the plan.
There are more 'next gen' titles for PS5 than there were for PS4 in the time frame.
There also are more cross gen titles for PS5 but LBP3 was also cross gen on PS4 for instance.
There are simply way more games for PS5 than there were for PS4.

Don't you find weird how PlayStation get heat for not producing enough but outselling xbox series 2/1 whereas xbox still sold out too but doesn't get near as much heat for not producing enough?
PS5 discs have the native game on the disc and can play with no internet connection, no log in.
Series X discs need connection to download the native version.
BC also have this issue (of needing a one time log in) I believe.
If it's native version then that mode should be on both or not at all.
