People think Ms is being pro consumer whereas in reality they provide an even cheaper controller because they love selling expensive Elite controllers and want to keep doing that business. So of course those expensive controllers are forward compatible.

I think it will have an impact on the marketting at least. It could also have an impact on the price, on Sony plans since we already know it s had an impact on Ms plan and events like revealing Series S, date, and price which are said to be delayed too.
It may put somehow more pressure on Sony to reveal their price first.
