Time is not on Resistant 3's side, because in time UC3, SKYRIM, BF3, AC Revelations, MW3 and Batman AC will release and Resistance 3 will be forgotten.

If vgchartz is to be believed, Anniversary is outselling Uncharted 3 on preorder charts despite releasing later AND being a remaster with very little marketing.
Come Halo 4 and you won't be uttering that nonsense.
We can, but it didn't have a very good showing in the biggest market for fps games so either way it isn't going to be very impressive.

Shoddy marketing, that's been SONY/PS3's Achillies Heel this entire generation.
Word of mouth was great last gen when they pretty much owned the market, but now they have very strong competition and cannot simply coast on the PLAYSTATION brand name any longer.
They really need to adopt a more aggressive marketing strategy because they have great games but a very large chunk of their install base don't even know about them.

NA isn't the world but it is the biggest single gaming market, especially for shooters. So it really says alot when AAA FPS exclusive sequel opens to such low numbers.

Actually inFAMOUS 2 seems to be on par with 1, not very ahead as you seem to be suggesting. Both of them were around the million mark this far into their release so it isn't that impressive that inFAMOUS 2 is nearly half 2 million sales, inFAMOUS 1 did it with 30 million less ps3's out in the same speed.
Here's a better word, a sentence rather: we don't know, it isn't out yet. Can't say no before you play it. Can't say yes neither.

Actually, it has been doing some pretty decent pre-orders in the Americas, I stand to be corrected but the 360 version is currently the 9th most pre-ordered game, ahead of the ps3 version of BF3 (I kid you not) Halo Anniversary (11th) and Uncharted 3 (12th).
So I'd say it's holding its own pretty well.
