GT5 did just recieve a budget price cut a week or 2 ago so a spike in sales is to be expected
however it wouldn't be unfair to say they certainly seem to be selling less than expected THIS year. Resistance 3 sales are lagging behind Resistance 2 sales at the same number of weeks out even though there were only 16 million ps3's out 3 years ago vs 52 million now.
Same can be said for killzone 3 and infamous 2.
The fact that Dead Island is not on sale in Japan and yet the PS3 version is currently outselling Resistance 3 is both interesting and disappointing
i'd wager that you'd never say that about him if he were still the protagonist of this game. Now that they killed him off you wanna make it seem like it was a genius idea.

Beating Resistance 3 worldwide is impressive enough on its own. . .its when you realise that Dead Island isn't even available in Japan that you REALLY realise just how amazing that feat is
Black Ops beating Resistance in 3 short weeks on the ps3 only chart in the US and Dead island also being more popular than Resistance 3 in the UK ps3 charts.
This is why the theory that ps3 exclusives sell less because there are more of them to choose from doesn't hold water, ps3 owners just seem to prefer CoD and other multiplat games

With over 200k pre-orders on during the last week alone and almost 2 million in total in just North America, it is pretty much a safe bet that 300k is not the total sold. But we all know you know this, you just wish it was
Gears of War 3 quite clearly won over the critics but more importantly the fans. The beta impressed and led to very high pre-order numbers. In the end, critics are just people with opinions, gamers vote with their wallets and 9/10 times they'll buy the game they WANT.

Actually if ALL the gears 3 reviews we have seen on n4g made it on to metacritic then GEARS 3 would be averaging 93 instead of 91 so it's a double-edged sword so maybe mind what you're crying about. Also, why must every article that is negative about sony or ps3 be flooded with negative comments about microsoft or x360? What does thi article have to do with gears or microsoft? Does it make you feel better about this article bashing gears 3?

That's one way of looking at it I suppose. But you listed games that aren't out yet. How do you know those games will sell all that well?
very unfortunate numbers for Resistance 3, Dead Island has in fact overtaken it on just PS3 which is highly shocking to me. I do not understand why this game is not selling like it deserves to. A true AAA experience in my opinion. Whatever the reason, I hope those that bought it are at least enjoying it and those that didn't are enjoying whatever it is they did buy.
I don't understand this mentality, have there been NO games on xbox 360 so far this year? Did games like Crysis 2, portal 2, bulletstorm, dead space 2, dragon age 2, la noire and dues ex not release on ps3 AS WELL AS x360 this year? Or do multiplat games not count as games? If x360 owners where truly starved of shooters, wouldn't crysis 2 have sold millions on x360 alone?

ONLY exclusive in 2011? Is Forza 4 releasing on PS3 as well and I missed the announcement? What about Halo Anniversary?? Surely I'd know if it had been pushed to next year.
Do not underestimate Forza people. It is the ONLY retail racing series this ENTIRE generation with a single game that is rated 90 or above on metacritic. Forza 3 even outsold big hitters like Uncharted 2. It is a major quality exclusive

The trend seems to be that ps3 exclusive sequels THIS YEAR are selling noticeably less than their previous iterations. And by that I mean at a slower rate.
The original Resistance is the highest selling ps3 exclusive fps. Resistance 2 is the 3rd highest selling ps3 exclusive fps. True story. Your arguement is thus not founded on fact
