@GribbleGrunger:
That is a lot of horse sh1t. Investors don't read gloom and doom stories and base their decision on that. They base it on hard facts, and proper analysis such as actual sales data.
Otherwise you are just a speculator, not an investor.
Technically they weren't MS customers in the first place, so MS doesn't really care.
Like anything, you try to pick your customer base to avoid getting the non-profitable customers.
Anyhow, serves those bastard thieves right!!! :)
@GribbleGrunger:
That is because Sony has dropped their price every other year, while MS has held their price steady. Yet, MS sold about twice as many consoles as Sony during last years holiday. We are talking 6-8 million consoles here to put that into perspective.
MS is focusing on profit, while Sony *was* focusing on market share. I think that situation is potentially being reversed.
Also, I would love to know where you got your numbers fr...
@SkullBlade169:
It depends on what Nintendo Network has to offer, but as far as I can tell unless the upgrade is *really* significant, I wouldn't bother.
I would just stick to XBL as it has the most active community around. A real community likely exceeds most features anyhow.
To keep it in perspective though, a Wii U doesn't cost much more than a PS3 or Xbox 360 so I wouldn't expect a lot more either especially the costly second...
I wouldn't hold my breath. Sony just finally started to get a new PSN Store after all these years.
Heck, I'm even surprised MS bothered considering the legal wrangling they have to go through and how feel people is actually affected.
Technically DLC is just an expansion of "expansions" of full games on PC. I see nothing wrong with DLC, and welcome this extra content for ME3.
I will just wait for the price to drop, or it arrives in a compilation.
A completely re-designed console dashboard with spanky new apps?
Still lead in online gaming community after all these years?
With a 49% market share, it also illustrates how bad the competitors are doing.
Keep in mind the Xbox 360 hasn't had a price drop in ages, while the competition has. Specifically the PS3 has had 2 price drops while Xbox 360 has had none it still comfortably maintains it lead.
It amazes me the Xbox 360 still sells the numbers it does with no price drop at all.
It's like Sony looked at XBL/Windows 8/Metro and said we want that!
I don't blame them, it looks good. I for one don't care that Sony copied. It is a benefit to everyone and after all, the sincerest form of flattery is copying!
Congrats to Sony for finally doing something about that god awful store that has incomplete image download and is so slow.
This is a good step in the right direction.
@MacDonagh:
First of all, it doesn't take 300,000 million dollars to make Dead Space 3. That is BS!
If consumers ask for it, these companies will make it work. The gaming industry will receive unprecedented growth next generation. It wouldn't surprise me if it rivals movies more often than it already does.
@LX-General-Kaos:
"Sony now knows that innovation and great risk is key."
I disagree. Innovation doesn't necessarily come with risk. In fact you need to minimize risk while allowing progress. Risk is exactly that, an increased likely hood you will fail.
What Sony need is cost control and innovation in the right area. They should also invest in new management, because the current one has done many bonehead decisions.
@ShaunCameron:
True! However, I praise a company when they do something right and b!tch when they do something wrong.
Region free is a step in the right direction for Sony.
I agree, and imagine what would have happened if people dismissed the early computer mouse?
Certainly the earliest computer mouse sold isn't nearly as good as it is now!
That said, I think Fable Journey is definitely an interesting game and it is getting some mixed scores. Then again, many sites gave terrible scores to Kinect Sports, but it is a great game. It alone sold over 3 million copies!
I think the bottom line is, you can't re...
"Come on. No body likes ms points, why are they still being used."
I like MS Points a lot because I can almost always buy them at a heavy discount, usually in the range of 20-25% discount.
Never been able to buy any other "currencies" at a discount on any other platform.
Kevin Butler Vice President of the making Nintendo awesome?
That is pretty cool!
One day it might just get rid of the mouse.
@MariaHelFutura:
"Buying ANY game you want is better than purchasing XBLG. Even if it is only $60/yr. No one can say they would rather purchase XBL then buy a new game they really want. People buy XBL because they are forced to, plain and simple."
I buy XBLG over a game all the time. My problem isn't finding games to play, but rather finding people I want to play with that has a microphone and a way to efficiently play and communicate togheter. ...
I'm not saying death threats (or any threats) are fine, but how many of them are actually real threats?
Point is, it is just immature behavior and it happens all the time in many other industries as well.
You are far more likely to get mugged walking down the street than a death threat ever being real.
If you make a popular product, you need thick skin. It is part of the territory.
The problem isn't nobody said anything, but rather the people still bought the games!!!
Basically the people that don't care outnumber those that do care with a wide margin.
Money speaks the loudest, so vote with your money!!!
In order to do that, you have to have a big network of big sites willing to write this repeatedly. Eventually you will meet someone that refuses it and blows it all up right in your face.
Is it that hard to see to believe a once popular company is now on the down slope and people like to hear aor talk about it?
